    AG49 Vermont IPA

Well, harvesting the yeast fell on its arse, I bought another fermenter to transfer it, but with the weather at the time and some other unforseen circumstances, I just ended up dry hopping straight in the FV. On bottling day, to my surprise, the entirety of the dry hops were sat on the top of...

    Bridger's BrewDays

Been a while since I updated this, brewed a couple of thing over last month or so. Most notably a NW NEIPA from a recipe Adam from Baldy's brewery on YouTube. Turned out fantastic, and was the first beer I've put into my new kegs. Bought 2 9L kegs and a soda stream adapter for the reg. All...

    Force carb back sweetened TC

So, I've been bottling my TC for some time, but thought about chucking some in a keg and force carb it. I'd like to back sweeten it too, probably with Monin green apple syrup, but don't want it fermenting that sugar out in the keg. What's best way to kill of any yeasties? Boil it? Or some wine...

    whole grain no mill

I once used a hand cranked meat mincer on course setting to crush 1kg of uncrushed grain I bought by accident, wasn't the best crush but worked. I did start by trying in a bag with a rolling pin but that was waaay to difficult.

    Mini Corny Kegs.

I've got a full sized fridge freezer in the garage, top fridge is full of bottles, bottom freezer half full of hops :-D I can't have another fridge! Lol. Unless I modified the lower shelf so it could stand upright, and then still have room for some bottles on the other side. Ideally just...

    Mini Corny Kegs.

Yeah I understand that, I'd pull it out of fridge and fit a jacket to it. Mainly like a party keg.

    Mini Corny Kegs.

Just a quickie, thinking of getting a 9L corny keg as space is limited, once there is beer in it and force carbed, is there any real issue with storing it in a fridge on its side? Obviously will stir up any sediment, but aside from that?

First time brew 17 days in.

Ok, water looks about spot on 1.000 give or take a few points which is fine. Your new reading looks about 1.014 - 1.016 from that picture, which is pretty much what the instructions say. But you say that was AFTER adding 18tsp of sugar? Have you just added the sugar? Or did you add it before...

    Flaked oats?

Well, its fermenting, chucked the whole kilo in to account for the extra weight of the hulls as I said, hit my numbers ok too. Will see how it turns out.

First time brew 17 days in.

Looking at your hydrometer, and going on that red band, 104 seems to look in the 1.038-1.040 range. 1.040 seems a bit high. (The 10, 20, 30, 40 etc will be 1.010, 1.020 etc.) According to the instructions for that kit, FG should be about 1.014, so 17 days in it should have hit that. Can you...

    AG49 Vermont IPA

It's in a wide neck fermenter, not bucket so may not be that easy. I do have a spare fermenter tho so racking no prob. First dry hop is at 7 days. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    AG49 Vermont IPA

I'm going to try and grow the frozen pack up and see if it is still viable, hopefully save it and then split it. I'll probably have to rack this brew into a secondary if I'm to save that yeast as I plan a lot of dry hoping that I'm just going to dump in. I was just in a panic at the time to...

    AG49 Vermont IPA

Just put a NEIPA on myself on Saturday, using Gigayeast Vermont. First time using this ( bought 2 packs and somehow managed to freeze one of them, next to each other in middle of fridge. [emoji17] quick tenner lost! ) Recipe attached, mostly pinched from Adam at Baldy's brewery off YouTube...

Beer Hawk now selling HB equipment.

All the kegging kits with regulators say they have an American thread on them. What's the point in that over here? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Flaked oats?

Well yeah, I thought that, will see better once opened. Recipe calls for 700g but I may chuck the whole kilo in to account for the hulls. Too late now anyway, brewday is Sunday. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Flaked oats?

Well got a reply from Brupaks.... Ross Our oats are produced by Micronised Food Products and are flaked and crushed for optimum extraction.* I'm sure you will enjoy using them. regards Not sure what that really tells me. Got em now so might as well use em and see. Paying extra for the weight...

    Flaked oats?

Used quick oats in stout before, I did a bit of reading and some say they are same, some say different. I just thought I'd try and get the proper stuff. I've emailed Brupaks see what they say. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
