Is this the beginning of the end for the Conservatives.

I doubt it. Johnson is eady to get rid of as he's only the PM. What's more difficult is getting rid of those who hold the real power like Rees Mogg.

    The O2 arena

Oh. I thought this was going to be a thread about the Millennium Dome. How disappointing.

    Tesco's beer choice

Have you noticed Fullers haven't produced one this year? It took their social media people well over a week to get back to me when I DM'd the on Twitter and the message I left on their answer machine still hasn't been refurned.

    Built in water filter

Exactly. But I can't see how it can keep that long. When I used to use Videne, I remember being advised that in a hard water area to use citric acid in it (though I now think that was also something to do with altering the ph levels) and that it was also a usedmful indicator in that once the...

    Built in water filter

This is in the FAQ section of the website: HOW LONG IS STAR SAN GOOD FOR ONCE IT’S MIXED INTO A SOLUTION? Star San is an EPAs registered sanitizer and must be used immediately. We do not recommend using it if has been in solution longer than an hour. That said, Charlie Talley, the product's...

    Built in water filter

I bought an inline system without a tap (it's connected to the cold water tap in the kitchen) from Osmio a few years ago. Their customer service is very good and they'll send you reminder emails when it's time to order new filters. I think I expected it to do more than it does, but that's my...

    Corny kegs without C02

I'm pretty sure you do need C02 in order to seal the keg and would say using C02 bulbs to seal and then dispense a bit counter productive (not to mention very expensive, unless you really don't have room for a small gass bottle). Also, I've seen some American videos on YouTube of people doing...

    Port anyone?

If you use regular brandy, you won't end up with port. You need aguardente although a brandy is clear, unaged and around 70-80% ABV. That said, I'd love to know how you get on using brandy.

    Bath

The Old Green Tree in Bath. An absolutely tiny pub with good beer.

    Wetherspoons

I used to frequent a Wetherspoons in north London several times a week as the the alternatives within walking distance were pretty awful. A Green King pub that occasionally had their awful IPA that I stopped using because of the occasional whiff of violence in the air and the fact that when they...

Who wants this guinness microdraught for Christmas?

Forums tend to attract people who like to think because they have some knowledge of a subject, it makes them superior to the average person in the street who likes, but is not as knowledgeable (and probably doesn't isn't that bothered). Though that's not to say everyone on every forum thinks...

Who wants this guinness microdraught for Christmas?

You may be able to get a pub standard set up for less, but some of you are forgetting that: 1) This was probably developed to be aimed at small bars and restaurants, but the price is low enough to offer to the domestic market 2) The sort of person who's going to part with £750 for what someone...

    "Beer Masters" Amazon Prime videos

Jaega Wise is or was co-owner/Head Brewer ar Wild Card in Walthamstow. She's also done a number of things on TV and radio. An episode of ITV's The Wine Show which is available on Netflix (might be Amazon though) which is a brilliant programme even if you know nothing about wine. Also she's...

    Dried Blackcurrants?

I once used dried elderberries in place of fresh for Berry's elderberry and runner bean wine. I don't remember them swelling, but I do remember not reading the recipe properly and halving the quantity. It was like syrup and even when the bottles were empty, they looked full. Even ten or fifteen...

    CO2 gun for purging bottles?

I've never purged bottles with C02, because I only started buying C02 when I bought kegs. If I were wanting to keep, say, a beer of a style that doesn't conventionally benefit from keeping for a long time, I might consider it. Or if I was entering a competition. I think commercial brewers purge...

    "Beer Masters" Amazon Prime videos

We've watched three and have enjoyed them. Non-brewing GF thought there wasn't enough detail at the start of the first episode. It's a hard balance to strike. If compared to GBBO or Sewing Bee, most people who've never baked or sewn know vaguely what goes into a cake or that you need needle...

A question about dispensing Weissbier from a corny keg

One of my first beers from a keg was a hefeweizen and I hadn't given settling a thought, but it didn't clear at all.

    Thank you

If this is something from Asahi, it's probably written by the same people who run the Fullers Twitter account. I asked about ten days ago if there will be an Imperial Stout this year and apart from "I'll find out" after a week, I've heard nothing. If it is genuine, it's a little rude not to ask...

Ambulance service 'operating at its limits'

Hmmmm. How many million pounds were written on the side of Johnson's bus in 2016?

Scrapping HS2 Leeds extension 'undermines' levelling up

In my opinion the only 'levelling up' we would have seen in the north is property prices. Yes, being able to get from Leeds to London quickly by train is great, but would it be priced at such a level everyone can afford? All I could see happening was lots of people in well paid jobs, selling...
