AG Ringwood Fourtyniner - New Kettle

Looks like you have a very nice setup and a good brew on the go. I recently had a go at brewing a Fourtyniner after a friend brought a few bottles to try when he returned from England. The flavour was close and it's certainly drinkable, but I hadn't quite got that lovely rounded taste of the...

Welcome. I have a good friend that started brewing in Australia, and I have the impression that they have a great attitude to home brewing. And who doesn't love a hoppy beer.......yum

    Kit to AG time?

I've had a lot of fun putting together my 50 ltr stainless steel brew pot, PID heat controller, wort chiller, pump etc. and still keep having ideas on how it could be improved as I read through the forum and gain more experience. For me the BIAB Heath Robinson way of doing things is the way to...

    Kit to AG time?

As mentioned, I'm not knocking the GF. If that's the way you want to go and you are willing to splash the cash (currently retailing on Amazon.de for 945€ plus postage), then go for it.

    Kit to AG time?

If the controller is the most expensive part, then I guess everything else would be less.....I think I'm missing your point, but it's interesting to see how many parts there are. And I'm not knocking the GF it's a great bit of kit, just not for me.

    Kit to AG time?

I agree with your thoughts on the all-in-one, plus (for me) it takes a little bit of the fun out of it when almost everything is done for you. Putting my kit together has been a fun experience, and has helped me to understand some of the processes along the way. BIAB is a good way to go without...

    Kit to AG time?

I brew in a bathroom and it works rather well. I put a wooden board across one end of the bath, place the pot on that and it's good to go. Any spillage is easy to clean up, good water and drainage, plus the bathroom is design to handle high humidity. Of course you will need an electric element...

    Lables

I'm making my own labels in MS Word, but not being the most creative I was wondering if anyone knows a site where I could download a word template?

Hop haze, the new R&R for brewing

Thanks for taking the time to reply and for the information. I haven't got in to pressurizing beer, so may pass on this and stick to dry hoping for now :)

I'm not sure what a hop Randall is, but it sounds like it may be worth looking up :)

    Hi All

Hi Steve62, welcome aboard. I started with Coopers kits which in my opinion is beer making for dummies, so yes even I could do it and still manage to enjoy the end result :) All the best and have fun

Beginners Guide to Water Treatment (plus links to more advanced water treatment in post #1)

First day as a member and I come across this, great stuff. Thank you very much.

Why such a rush to bottle? Waiting a few extra days avoid possible problems with carbonation and it gives the yeast time to drop.
