The rest of my ingredients arrived today for the next 5 brews. First time using Cross my loof yeast but I've heard good things from other people.

    CO2 splitter

To be honest I will probably just keep the barbs on as long as I can get my 3/8 gas line onto them as I won't be taking the line off the splitter at any point.

    CO2 splitter

Just wondered if anyone knows the best way to attach 3/8 gas line to one of these? Ideally I'd like to change the barbs for John guest fittings, does anyone know what size the screw threads on the input and outputs?

    How long to leave kolsch

Yeah I think temptation might be my worst enemy on this one, especially as it will be the first time I've done a Kolsch.

    Kegerator tap holes

So I'm going to be building a kegerator soon from a second hand fridge and wondered what type of drill bit to use to drill the holes in the door. I have some of the below drill bits in different sizes but I think these are designed to be used on wood. Will these work on a metal fridge door or do...

All Grain Brewing for an Absolute Beginner?

The good thing going about all grain brewing now is there is so much help, advice and I formation out there. There are videos on YouTube, a few must have books, forums like this, websites with recipes etc. It could be worth starting with brew in a bag then moving on from there. I was lucky in...

    Should I buy a grainfather

I would say fork out a bit more and get a Braumeister, they are worth the extra money. The heating element is round the side rather than underneath so there's no chance of burning the wort. There is a tap on the side which helps drain it. You can take the pump apart to ensure there aren't any...

    Secondary or not ?

I might do a comparison between non secondary and secondary using the same recipe and see what the difference is

    Secondary or not ?

I asked a similar question a while back and got mixed answers like transferring into secondary is good to get the beer off everything that's settled at the bottom of the FV and will also help it clear. The other side of the argument was that you open up the possibility of nasties getting into...

What kit / system do you use?

I started out with a 3 vessel system, great but always found them a little clunky. I moved over to a Braumeister a few months ago and it was the best decision I've made. So easy to use, all in one, you can do stepped mashes with ease, easy to clean etc. Wouldn't go back to 3v now.

    Hop plants/rhizomes - growing report

Yeah this is a bit of a last minute ditch effort to get something up to support them as I haven't had time to sort a proper frame out yet. We'll see how long it lasts!

    Strawberry beer recipe

Has anyone got a good strawberry beer recipe, lager based rather than ale. I'm looking for something along the lines of Fruli or Timmermans, my Google searching didn't really find anything that really did it for me.
