    Covid-19 the second wave.

Liverpool, are they reaching herd immunity? are tier 3 restrictions working? a bit of both? I don't know but over 3.6% of everyone has tested positive (nearly the highest in the country), there recent high was nearly 0.7% positive a week and its still over 0.5% (so actual infections must be way...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

No the idea of natural herd immunity is you let the healthy people get it while protecting the venerable then in a few months the healthy people have had it and can no longer pass it to the venerable rather than putting the entire population into lockdowns and other restrictions and making the...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

OK try putting that the other way round, except for the ones you mention every virus in the history of mankind has been eliminated through “naturally obtained heard immunity” or is still about and only 1 has caused our government to restrict when we can visit friends and family.

    Covid-19 the second wave.

I have been looking for some strong evidence of somewhere reaching some level of herd immunity for a while and not found anything conclusive but these are my latest observations. I took the 35 local authorities with death rates over 100 per 100K and looked to see if they have over 300 (top 50)...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

1 day before pubs reopen 3/7/20 Around a month later 07/08/20 Many other things open just before schools and universities go back 04/09/20 Schools and universities back for about a month 09/10/20 Does anyone really think more restrictions on hospitality will help? You can see this same...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

Just some further observations on what I noticed a few days ago where all the worst cases on the map in the south were in places with universities. Now there are 7 of the darkest blue including Oxford and everywhere south of it all in places with a university, the only dark spot in East Anglia...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

Here's my latest observation using yesterdays no's from worldometer I have added column M showing daily cases per 100K population and added the UK 7 day average from 1st sept. Its only 1 days numbers and some countries take a few days to get it right on worldometer but it clearly shows a second...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

Just some observations from the North West. Hospital admissions are now over what they were going into lockdown and though not increasing as fast they are doubling every just over 4 weeks, if this continues it will be 6-7 weeks until its higher than the previous peek in April. Nearly 3% of all...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

Has anyone got an explanation for the following: Using numbers for England only not UK, everything was at its most open from 4th July but hospital admissions carried on dropping for around 8 weeks and deaths for a full 2 months. Then hospital admissions start rising again slowly in late August...

Starting a brewery in an old pub

If you are buying a pub building then you can do what you like and it will not come with anything you don't want (as long as your not buying one subject to someone else leasing it normally advertised as an investment property). If you are buying a lease its unlikely to be on the terms you want...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

I just did some maths and thought I may as well share. I am assuming there is a direct correlation between hospital admissions and cases, I realise there are reasons this may not be the case. I used data from Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK for dates from 13/3/20 to 22/9/20 as its the range...
