    Converting 72 pint ale cask

40! Was well worth returning then for many reasons. Above all I wouldn't have liked to use one as a fermenter.

    So who's growing chillies 2021?

Grown everything from seed this year even Strawberries. Chillis are looking healthy in the greenhouse now - still in small pots but are growing.

    Headaches, shakes - hangover?

I'm the other way around - generally I don't get hangovers per se but maybe can feel a bit off. It might just be different chemicals - I have found since my two visits back to the pub during the last month I have felt the effects far more than the stuff I've been drinking at home and it's...

    My Claim to Fame

I beat Tim Henman at tennis. Cheltenham Open 1987 (I think it was).

    Come on - Fess up

    Good point that.

    Come on - Fess up

I wouldn't be allowed to use my bath like that I fear :laugh8:

    Come on - Fess up

Also I did my last brew outdoors it was a lovely day - will do that as often as I can in the Summer.

    Come on - Fess up

Personally I sanitise the FV and everything that will fit in it. I also do all the bottles. I will give the boiler/Brewzilla a nice clean after using. I have a spray bottle of diluted Star San for little bits and pieces that might crop up like if I want to use a sieve at some point - but I'm...

    Come on - Fess up

I honestly think I could cope with that hit or miss record.

    Come on - Fess up

Who gets complacent on sanitation? I would bet there are 3 different levels. 1) Complusive do everything all the time. 2) Half and half probably started off as 1) but having had no issues maybe take a few short cuts now. 3) Still rinse and use boiled water but having had no issues not too...

Going Large - Today's the Day

You don't want to damage the surface - there is a name for the protection of it which escapes me now but should be done at least annually.

Brewzilla thread to share knowledge, experiences and good practice

I've still not used mine yet I really wanted to get my head around the processes and how it is used for the different steps such as sparging but watched this and made notes and am ready to begin next week now. I've only gone as far as BIAB in a Buffalo boiler previously so am looking forward to...

Going Large - Today's the Day

    Sounds exciting best of luck!

    What did you brew today?

Well the sun was out and I had one final dry malt extract BIAB brew to make so I decided to run an extention cable outside to the patio to use my Buffalo boiler and brew in the sun. Seems to have gone quite well I think I am a few points down on the recipe but that's not the end of the world for...

    Which all in one?

They are one and the same - tend to be called differently in different countries.

    Great service from Malt Miller!!

I use MM exclusively now - they have a great range and the expiry dates are longer than anywhere else I have tried. No need to look elsewhere for me.

How long have you been brewing for?

I am about 9 months into my journey. Started with some kits and have now done some grain boiling in a bag with dry extract which turned out amazing. I am finishing work temporarily in 2 months, taking perhaps 6 months out to reset everything as work became far too stressful - might go somewhere...

    Vaccine Problem?

I don't mind not drinking say 3 days before it whenever it is and 3 after - my Mum had it last week and was a little bit rough for a couple of days so I don't think it's too bad an idea to have a little break when it happens.

    Woodforde Admiral Reserve

One of the best kits I've done - just happened to be the first one I did.
