0 minute hop addition, how long?

The recipe actually claims 24.4 for IBU’s but i guess that’s the style of IPA that it is. I love the original Neck Oil and i wouldn’t say that it’s overly bitter to my pallet. Alsop the flame out addition is followed by a dry hop of 50gms of cascade on day 3.

0 minute hop addition, how long?

Thanks for that. I do like a nice hoppy flavour in my beers so may adapt the recipe and go for a hop stand as opposed to a flame out addition which the recipe does call for. I’ve never actually timed the cool down period but at a guess I’d say 20 - 30 minutes, however i can slow this down to...

    CO2 bottle or regulator problem

When you get it refilled and set it up again, go round all the connections with some soapy water to test for leaks.

0 minute hop addition, how long?

They are pellet hops and i normally use a hop sock, so you’re suggesting chuck em in loose and leave in?

    CO2 bottle or regulator problem

Easiest way to check the contents of the cylinder is remove the regulator and crack open the bottle, you’ll soon know if there’s gas inside and unless you have a leak somewhere on the line you should have plenty of gas left.

0 minute hop addition, how long?

I was meant to be having a brew day today with a Neck Oil Clone from KegThat, but other things got in the way so postponed till next weekend now. Anyway, to my question. The recipe calls for a 0 minute hop addition of 100gms of Nelson Sauvin, how long do i leave the hops in before decanting the...

Which gas line connector to use when force carbonating

I always use the gas in post and i never shake the keg, just let it sit for week or so and let the C02 do its thing. I’ve never had any issues so far and never use priming sugar either. That’s not to say my way is right, but it works for me.

    Help with All Grain kit.

I checked last night and they have actually sent 50gms of Cascade so it must be a typo on their website mate.

    A quick hello

It’s only the cost issue that held me back initially, but now i have a 2 keg set up and would never go back to bottling. Except for any extra wort that i can’t fit into the kegs, i do bottle that as you can’t let that go to waste can you.

I noticed that as well but haven’t checked the contents of the kit yet. Hoping it’s a typo

    Help with All Grain kit.

Thanks again and will definitely post the results. I did the Neck Oil Clone for my first all grain brew and it turned out sort of OK (ish) but now that I’m sort of familiar with the process I’m expecting better results. Below is the recipe. The Neck Oil Clone Recipe Batch Size Losses Boil...

    Help with All Grain kit.

Brilliant and thanks again, I’m doing the Neck Oil Clone this weekend but will get round to the adapted NEIPA probably the weekend after and will post results. Am i right in thinking that the fruitiness of a NEIPA comes from the hops? And the mouthfeel and malt taste from the grains?

    Sodastream thread size

Crises averted and thanks for all the valuable info, it has been very helpful indeed. That said i have since found an alternative way of getting C02 into the Fermzilla, basically found another valve to use instead of paying around £60 for an adaptor, i found the below for less than £30, tubing...

    Sodastream thread size

I understand your concern, re: Gas bottles exploding etc, i work in the fabrication industry and have seen a few, well, 2 explosions due to incorrect use/handling, thankfully neither were fatal. However, one did blow a hole in the factory roof, some 40 feet up, travel across a river (canny wide...

    Help with All Grain kit.

Thanks for the info, my aim was to try and use up the grains/malts that i have and sort of cobble together a NEIPA style beer. Not being very clued up on grains and hops etc, i just thought I’d put it out there for you more knowledgable brewers. From my understanding the haze in a NEIPA comes...

    Sodastream thread size

Basically what i have is the soda stream regulator, with a female thread that screws onto the soda stream gas bottle (think it’s the TR21. The other thread (outlet) is a male W21.8-14. I’m not concerned with the pressure as the tubing is the usual 5/16” or 8mm in new money that i use on my full...

    Help with All Grain kit.

Hi All, A while back i bought a couple of kits online, one is a Neck Oil Clone (yet to be brewed) the other was meant to be a NEIPA, but they sent the wrong kit (Later corrected) The kit they sent was a traditional English IPA. Is there any way i can convert the grain bill to make a NEIPA...

    Sodastream thread size

I have recently bought a regulator from AliExpress so i can connect a soda stream bottle to my Fermzilla, basically cos I’m too lazy to disconnect my full size Co2 bottle from my kegs. ( I ferment in a different place to my kegs) Anyway, where can i get an adaptor to fit the male W21.8-14...

    Fermzilla heat

What you can do, and what i do is fill the Fermzilla with approximately 6 litres of cold water first, then use a seperate bucket to mix the extract in, give a good dtir then tip it into the Fermzilla, then obviously top up to your required volume. I’ve never had any issues this way.
