Water addition question - soft Scottish water

OK, that's good then, will go with this for my next brew and see how it goes. Thinking of something basic, 95%pale, 5% carapils. Tiny bit of bittering with magnum then loads of whirlpool at 75 degrees. Wondering whether to even drop the dry hop and chuck it all in the whirlpool? I bought a...

No, I can't measure the pH, I usually add 100g of acid malt to the grain bill though

Water addition question - soft Scottish water

Im having problems getting a good pale ale brew - they all tend to come out tasting the same, soft, fruity but nothing more than that, I mean you would be hard pressed to even say what hops were in it! I have been using an Excel spreadsheet calc that somebody added my water report into a few...

I also have nearly a kg of brambles in the freezer that I wanted to use. So recipe, 250g of lactose? A few teaspoons of...

Would this work as a keggerator?

Do you need to add a collar? I was going to drill into the lid and fix the taps that way, have a 3 tap tower, would that not work?

Would this work as a keggerator?

I'm looking to either build a 3 keg keggerator or buy the mangrove jacks one. Mangrove jacks takes 3 of the newer slimline kegs so I would need to swap mine at additional cost or just have 2 older cornies in use till I could afford to swap. Making one is obviously cheaper and if I could get one...

    Getting gas into fridge

So... I had a look and there is no drain hole in this fridge :-( Back to the drawing board! Also, the side of the fridge has a vent inside the fridge and Im wondering if this means there are cooling pipes on the side as well?

    Getting gas into fridge

Ive got a kenwood American style fridge/freezer and want to run CO2 into it for my kegs (currently only got 1 keg and keep the gas in the fridge, but won't have room for 2 kegs and co2 bottle). Ideally I want to run it in from the side of the fridge but am very qorried about hitting a cooling...

    emptying fermzilla collection bottle

My brew is under 12psi and I want to empty the now full collection bottle - do I need to release the pressure prior to emptying the bottle? Im thinking yes as the stuff in the bottle is obviously at 12pis as well and when I unscrew that pressure will release and boom!

    strange iSpindel readings

Dont know why I didnt think of this! Just checked with the hydrometer and its at 1012 which is spot on what the recipe predicted! Sneaky sip, its warm and filled with hops and yeast but its got oodles of flavour and a good bitterness on it. Amazing body but thats probably due to how much...

    strange iSpindel readings

Im wondering if this is the result of either or both as its the first time Ive added Lactose and also the first time fermenting under pressure..... My wort from the refractometer was reading 1059 (although now I think of it, its also brand new, could it be faulty?) but the iSpindel read 1070 -...
