What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Last of my shop bought beers before I get stuck into the HB. Lovely way to finish though...

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Second beer from my Tesco run. Absolutely spot on. Can't beat it for £3.50 👍

Picked this up in the local Tesco. Supermarket beers are getting better and better. This is super smashing great.

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Syphon direct to gob 😂 I've got an Imperial Stout bubbling away since yesterday. Supposed to be 6 month conditioning. Doubt I can wait 6 days. It will be quite the challenge...

I'm the same when waiting for beers to condition. I'll be drinking it straight from the fermenter soon.

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Cheers mate, my local Morrisons were selling gift tins with a glass, cool tin (which I am determined to find a use for) and a bottle of Trooper for £2. Raging with myself for only picking up one 😂

Trying my GH Baltic Porter 3 weeks into it's 3 month conditioning (couldn't resist). Very happy with how it is progressing 👌 Head retention could be better though.

    US-05 pitching rate

Please don't ruin my conspiracy theories with well thought out, reasonable, logical points 😂

    US-05 pitching rate

I'm sure I read somewhere to be wary of online yeast calculators as they are designed to sell yeast. This article may be of interest too: https://byo.com/article/pitching-rates-yeast-techniques/

Which beer could we brew that most resembles a medieval ale?

I'm sure heather was used in pre hop days, especially in Scotland. Williams Bros produce this, which may or may not be close to the original. https://shop.williamsbrosbrew.com/products/fraoch

    US-05 pitching rate

I agree with the pitching rates. I have an Imperial Stout brew (predicted 10.2%) at the weekend and have 2 packs US-05 for it. Usual strength brews (up to 7% ish) I have always pitched one 11g pack.

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

My first attempt at a Kölsch from GH bible. Will defo be brewing it again. A bit on the young side (only 2 weeks from bottling). A nice change from hoppy IPAs and the like 👍

    Craft Beer & Brewing magazine

Ingredients for Black Ops order via the wonders of Get er Brewed recipe builder. Couldnt get Summit hops for bittering so swapped out for Columbus. Also switched yeast to old faithful US-05 as I prefer dried yeast. I'll report back in 6 months, all going well! 👍

Great book. Planning on trying out Brooklyn Black Ops and Alchemist Heady Topper from it👍.

    Hop Spider

I think most auto syphons have a sediment trap, this is the one I use https://brew2bottle.co.uk/products/44cm-easy-start-auto-syphon?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6cWoiI7c6QIVhe3tCh24ogXnEAQYASABEgLCr_D_BwE As long as you keep the syphon...

I noticed a significant return to form after ditching the hop spider. Hopefully bagless goes well for you 👍

Drinks You Wouldn't Admit to Drinking

OVD was plentiful in the Central Belt also. That or Black Heart Rum. Both equally exquisite 😁

Very interesting. Recently brewed my first kölsch as I dont have temp control fermentation but definitely like the sound of this 👍
