Boil Times and how to Know What to Use

I know David Heath has gone with a shorter boil time. I'll look into this. Is it only relevant for pales, and particularly ones where the hopping is more for flavour than bittering?

    Klarstein Mundschenk

I know this is an oldish post now but I would also add the GF has much better build quality, plumbing fittings, & a decent manual (I've got both 😬)

    Hop Spiders

Having had lots of issues with my Grainfather G30, I've gone over to a Hop Spider now. It came to me, why are they called hop spiders, I can't see any relation to a spider?! 🍃🕷️

    Sodastream 60 gas bottles

Hi all, I could do with knowing when I'm low on gas. I've read that there's a weight when full on the neck of the bottle, but there's several numbers & I don't know which one is which. Any advice?

Clone - Vocation Double Tonka Frappe

Hi all. Hope this is in the right discussion. I'm a big fan of the Vocation Double Tonka Frappe, cans in some supermarkets. It's an 8% Stout. It's bordering on sweet - lactose or vanilla too? plus a good punch of coffee and tonka. Has anyone had a go at a clone for this?

    Newbie to the group

I'm waiting on my first brew now, it's at 2ndary fermentation stage. The GF is a whole new system to learn. Then I can adapt it to what works for me. 1st brew went very well, other than a few minor issues that I'll iron out in future brews

    Newbie to the group

Ha, not really. I've done lots of all grain & half mash brews over the years, but in low tech kit - a kettle type bucket & large pans. The GF requires me to learn the system, but temperature & timing are much easier now. Thanks

    Newbie to the group

Hi all! Newbie here to this group. I've been brewing at home for many years, from kits through to all grain. Recently joined the modern era, with a Grainfather, & some new equipment that I'm just getting my head around. Look forward to homebrew discussion
