I’m not shooting anyone down. All I ask, all I’ve ever asked, is for someone to give me tangible benefits for leaving. Jacob Rees Mogg said we could wait for 50 years to see any benefits. That’s just a joke, most of us, including those who voted to leave, won’t be around in 50 years so what’s...

We were told all sorts of nonsense and none of it had any relationship with reality. We were told we’d stay in the customs union and single market, we were told that Turkey was on the brink of joining the EU and we’d be flooded with millions of misogynistic Turkish men, we were told that there’d...

Never mind. We had to put up with people moaning and lying about being in the EU for 47 years. Only another 45 to go.

Under way as we speak. My grandfather was from Monaghan. I’ve done the paperchase, just got to knuckle down and fill all the forms in.

I agree, it’s only a phone call away. But the issue is getting clarification about what the British authorities will or won’t accept. There is a lot of confusion, even my vet doesn’t know for sure.

I got quoted £180 for an animal health certificate and it’s only valid for 4 months. Apparently you even need one to go to NI now too. We haven’t been to Europe since the system changed and to be honest I’m dreading it because of the issues you’ve identified. Apparently, although I don’t know...

Na, not moaning. Just saying “told you so”.

    Leadership Debate

Haha, it makes you think that the country really IS being run by Daily Fail readers!

    Leadership Debate

Not to that extent. There have occasionally been hold ups with trucks in the past where the police have held them on the motorway but nothing like what happened this weekend. We were visiting my father in law who’s lived about two miles from the tunnel for over 30 years and he said that it was...

    Hot Weather Preparations

All I hope is that whoever becomes Capt Mainwaring in the current leadership race abandons this stupid idea of going back to imperial measurements. It really is a load of bolleaux.

Well as the old saying goes “we s**g ‘em then you eat ‘em”.

Who will be the next PM? [Poll]

Whoever wins, this will just be an exercise in reorganising the deckchairs on the Titanic. The fact that this is the third leadership election in 6 years just goes to show how unstable the whole shower is.

The end of the road for Boris.

So how does it work? Is there a ‘none of the above’ option on the ballot paper, if you don’t like any of the candidates?

The end of the road for Boris.

“Now we'll get a nice and safe PM that is going to 'make the hard decisions' that will revert to the Tory plan A of public funding cuts, privatisation and tax avoidance schemes for the wealthy.” No change there then.

The end of the road for Boris.

My first reaction was hilarity. But then it dawned that during the current global situation, we need honesty, integrity and competence. It’s taken far too long for too many people to realise that with this current shower those qualities are non existent and it’s going to take a long time for...

    Scottish independence -

I don’t go on social media at all. I was on Facebook for a couple of years but I came off it because I thought it was full of frivolous or narcissistic bolleaux. I also had a Twitter account which I never used because I just didn’t get it. My wife bought me a Twitter for Dummies book, which I...

    Potentially silly question...

Back on topic, I lend my voice to the ‘sounds normal to me’ contingent.

    Scottish independence -

I don’t understand the need for Scotland to get permission from the UK government to have a referendum or leave. It seems to me that because Scotland joined the union voluntarily then they should be free to leave it. Any historians or lawyers out there who can clarify?

Women in the US lose the right to abortion

And on the other hand, they don’t want to bring in laws to try and prevent the slaughter of people who are already born. Something of an oxymoron.

Do you still live where you were born.

I can but endorse your first sentence. When I lived in Manitoba a few years ago, my son and I drove to Denver for a long weekend sampling the beer. What a fantastic selection of bars, beers and breweries and a free bus service that ran up and down the main street in the city centre!
