    Experience with Mangrove Jack M03?

I've found a lot of the MJ yeasts to be quite sluggish to get started. The last one I used which I think was west coast didn't show any activity for 3 days but then went like the clappers.

    Heat Belts and FV Thermowells

In addition to my fermentation fridge on the odd occasion I can get two brews on the go I use a large storage container filled with water and an aquarium heater. I really don't like the idea of the aquarium heater directly in the wort.

    Bottling mare...

Try it with a couple of bottles of your Doom bar when you bottle it and see what you think.

    Bottling mare...

I done exactly the same with an amber ale I made. I decided to let them carb up naturally. The beer took around a month to condition. It is now probably my best beer I've made and the carbonation is now pretty much exactly how you would expect a cask ale to be.

    FV smell

It's quite normal for lager yeasts to produce sulphur and from my understanding that yeast strain is a lager strain that can be fermented at ale temps.

    all set

Are your markings accurate for the volume. I always found my peco to be under by a couple of litres. I am sure the 20l mark was actually about 18 litres.

    Chocolate porter exbeeriment.

Looks very interesting. Love the idea about splitting batches it's a great way to get to find out about different techniques.

Fridge for cold crashing and fermentation

I'm exactly the same. I had some outdoor sized jenga blocks and used that to sit the fv on. Not ideal but it works!

    Air lock poltergeist?

Perhaps when you popped the lid down you created a seal and as the lid corrected itself it created excess air and that popped it off?

New Wort Chiller - have I poisoned my brew ?

I tend to give it a good soak in oxi after use then rinse it off give it a quick spray with sanitiser and wrap it tight in cling film. Seems to reduce the green oxidisation marks.

    Homebrew Dog Comeptition

I thought the same. I didn't bother as I thought there would've been thousands of entries. I hope they do something similar next year.

    Stainless steel pot quality

I got my pot direct from Bergland who are a German company. 33 litre pot delivered for £40 I believe, I'm sure they do bigger pots also.

Do Geterbrewed pack specialty malts in their own branded sacks?

Perhaps they get them in bigger packs and then repackage them?

Beer stopped bubbling too early?? 😩😩😩😩

If you haven't already got one the cheapo fishtank temperature strips are a primitive but decent way to monitor the temperature on the outside of your fermenter.

Beer stopped bubbling too early?? 😩😩😩😩

Did you take an initial gravity reading with your hydrometer? Airlock activity usually only occurs in the most vociferous phase of fermentation. Leave it be for another week or so as the yeast will still be working cleaning up the beer.

    Credit where its due.....

As you can do with the malt miller. The deal breaker for me is if you order before 1pm you get next day delivery.
