    Corks popping out

You should not be adding priming sugar to normal wine bottles at all. if you don't have alot of proper champagne bottles, stoppers and wire cages then use 1L plastic pet bottles for sparkling wines

Four cans two brews, with some live brewery yeast

11 days in for the two stronger twocan brews brings them down to around 1.020 i think, maybe it was a bit higher.. but then my hydrometer seems to read a few points high in water. The single can plus Dark DME has been down to 1.012 for the last couple of days so is ready to bottle, but i'm...

Growing hops "oop north" in Lancashire

I'm thinking i'll put mine in to pots this year(when i get round to buying them), Maybe one on the allotment and one at home. With it being the first year having my allotment the soil is very poor and i'm unsure where is sunny during the summer months.

    Air ambulance

I've raised money for them on several occasions, in my youth I used to drive like a lunatic around the lake district in a classic mini so it seemed like a good thing to invest in at the time . I've never had the miss fortune of needing their services but they do a damn good job with the...

    Imperial war Museum London

I can agree with this, I couldn't get interested in anything and i couldn't get the kids to really look at anything either... MOSI on the other hand just has them asking question after question even after going maybe 20 times in the last five years.

    Alternatives to bottling cider?

bottles of fizzy water from Tesco or asda cost less than 15p if you take that route. With a pressure barrel you add priming sugar which carbonates / pressurises(sp?) the barrel and usualy enables you to pour at least the first half, then you have a few options for getting the rest out: - open...

    Ebay grrrr!

listing fees are cheaper at 99p but I think your assumptions would be correct! A really poor move from the seller, I don't buy anything from eBay because of this kind of crap.

A Cheap Shiny or just Nasty?

in a similar way i keep walking passed my wheeled recycling bins and thinking "are they food grade and will they take boiling wort?". I could easily get another couple of recycling bins and fit some elements

Lidl Are Selling Fruit Trees And Fruit Bushes

That's probably what it was, pound*something*. either way, if I can get a gallon or two of wine out of a sunny patch in my garden over the next few years then my pounds will have been truly stretched.

Lidl Are Selling Fruit Trees And Fruit Bushes

I've just picked up two apple trees for my allotment for £3.99 from aldi. I'd quite like a couple of plum trees for the front garden but im yet to find any cheap ones. I've already got redcurrants, raspberry and blackberry(massive thorn-less things) from poundland at about £1.50 each. The...

    I have seen the light!

Not if you have a child at hand "stand here and hold this and you can have half a shandy" Works every time, dregs of the bucket + lemonade

    I have seen the light!

I fit my bottling wand to a syphon tube and put all the bottles on the floor under the bucket, its then very fast to just switch between bottles as they are filled. Just make sure you put the dogs out first
