Brewzilla Gen 4 advice and experiences

So a kind of global, local dialect. (Sorry for hijacking the thread everybody 🙇‍♂️)

Brewzilla Gen 4 advice and experiences

I've stopped sparging. I prefer to have a thin mash and then draining/pressing the grains. With yesterday's brew I also experimented with a slow re-circ, had it set to 20% (I usually try and get it to 100%). It worked fine with a stable temperature. Nearly forgot - I always had to mess about...

    What did you brew today?

A pale ale using up some of my short dated hops. Pitched fermipan bread yeast (as I was reminded about it) at 25c, chamber is set to 30c so should be over quickly.

Brewzilla Gen 4 advice and experiences

@Agentgonzo ,@foxy sounds like a kind of affectation then, he actually said unknowen in an episode I listened to whilst brewing (must update the what did you... thread). It's maybe a bit like youngsters saying marshmellow instead of marshmallow , took ages to re-program my daughters so they...

    Slow fermentation... or is it?

It’s still progressing. I’d just leave it alone and let it carry on.

    What Extract kit

You could invent your own and use extract and hops, that way you could possibly get close to what you want. I'm an all grain brewer but I've recently made a stout like that. I used to drink Oakham's citra (before I had brewed enough beer to be self sufficient), nice pint. I'm sure I could come...

Brewzilla Gen 4 advice and experiences

ashock1 :laugh8: Going to be firing mine up this aft. Different subject. As the resident Antipodean expert I'm hoping you can answer a question - I've started listening to a podcast (ooo, we should have a recommend me a podcast thread) called "a problem squared" presented by two Australians...

    Kveik Yeast

Nice and clean. It gets the thumbs up from the Missus. When it was younger it had the orangy flavour associated with Kviek but now it just tastes like a blonde/pale ale.

    Kveik Yeast

Link to my post when I was making the bread yeast (and Kviek yeast) beer. They fermented exactly the same. Link

    Kveik Yeast

Good question. I'll open one and have a look. I'll post a pic.

    Kveik Yeast

I’ve used it a couple of times. It works and I’ve had good results. Also worth considering is fermipan bread yeast fermented at the same high temperatures. I did a side by side test with a split batch fermenting in the 30s as a result of reading a farmhouse brewing book. Similar fermentation...

I'll show you mine... (Or have you ever seen such a pleasing fermentation chart)

I keep thinking about getting one of those robot temperhydrometer (or is it a hydrotemperometer) things being a fellow fan of charts. Maybe put on the Santa list.

    Collaborative Brew Schedule - 2024

Forgot to say @Nottsbeer your beers arrived, the second one looks like black ipa ? Just about to taste the BdG.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

If you'd moved the nuts two inches closer and the beer two inches further away you could have paid for them later :laugh8:

    Reusing Biere D’or bottles

What makes you think it will shatter ? Its already been capped. Why don't you try capping an empty ?

Sounds like a good mix on the go.

    Airlock problem

I was going to say that. I only use an airlock if I want to listen to it going gilllloooop.
