Forced carbonation - is there a trick to this?

Have a look at your local food cash and carries (the sort of food warehouses restaurants would buy food in bulk). I get my gas from Global Foods in Cardiff (I don't know if they're a chain and if there's one near you) but they charge £18 a refill and around £30 for a new bottle. James

Full Braumeister set up for sale, lots of extras.

If you're interested in splitting the kit out, how much would you take for the books? I'm mostly interested in the "Designing Great Beers" book but I'd be interested to know what you'd like for the whole lot. James

    Constant supply of beer

Seems very healthy to me. I'm with the OP on how easy it is to do. I can get through 16 - 20 pints Thursday to Sunday. Over Christmas and sometimes through the summer that can double with mid-week drinking during barbecues and nice summer evenings. OP, kegging is the way forward; you'll save...

    Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc

That drink really brings back memories. The last place I saw it was in a supermarket in Menton (not a million miles from Monaco). I tried finding a clone for it a number of years ago when I first started out brewing (about 8 years ago) but was unsuccessful. Your best bet is to brew a whit and...

Corny keg question - leave beer in liquid out line between use?

Same as the above really. I only ever bother cleaning the lines when I finish a keg which is normally around 5-6 weeks depending on the strength of the beer. James

    3 Way Gas Reg Board

I have for sale a three way gas board originally bought off a member of this forum. I've had the board in my possession a few days but when attempting to fit it tonight I found it was going to be impossible for me to do so unless I mount it to the outside of my brew fridge; this is a non-starter...

    Bottling - Tips?

If you can convince somebody else to help, it will make a world of difference. My wife used to help on bottling day (I keg now because I got so frustrated with it) by rinsing the bottles while I was filling. Then, she would pass the filled bottles while I capped them. The two of us working...

First TC, real summer fruit mix

I'd be interested to hear how that comes out. The wife likes really sweet fruit ciders (think Old Mout and Rekordalig). I'd like to brew here a low alcohol fruit cider so knowing where to start would be a great help. James

What's the 1 bit of advice you wish someone had given you, which you'd pass on to a new brewer?

"If you've got time to lean, you've got time to clean" following that will cut down a brew day by quite a bit. Beer is far more forgiving than we give it credit for. A slight **** up in sanitation may not always equal a ruined batch; have patience and see how it turns out. Brew less more. James

    Building a brewery...

Morning, I think mgkpancake hit the nail on the head. I spent weeks researching pots, elements etc for a full stainless brewer both for a smaller set up to produce five gallons and also a twenty gallon set up in order to go professional. For the five gallon setup, having looked into the cost...
