What are you drinking tonight 2024.

I’m surprised to be first to the bar. Tonight’s opener is a pair of spritzes, Limoncello for me and Raspberry & Elderflower gin for Mrs70

    Hydrogen Vs BEV cars.

Not quite. Around 33% of the UK electric is still fossil fuel based, 13% nuclear and the remainder is renewable. The renewable percentage has been trending up significantly over the last decade. Also, a lot of EV owners like me farm their own electrons. My weekly mileage means my EV runs almost...

    Hydrogen Vs BEV cars.

In simple terms, almost all hydrogen currently available is grey hydrogen - basically, another refined fossil fuel that is dependant on other fossil fuels for the refining process. 5% of currently available hydrogen is blue hydrogen - a refined fossil fuel but with carbon capture factored in...

    Hydrogen Vs BEV cars.

I beg to differ; how do you make, package and transport the hydrogen? This is like when the ICE people overlook the carbon footprint of extracting, refining and transporting fossil fuels and only focusing on tailpipe emissions.

    Hydrogen Vs BEV cars.

He repackaged an existing technology, hydrogen isn’t coming to the mass car market any time soon, or if it does it’ll be a waste. There are great applications for hydrogen; eg. blue H powering carbon capture and fuelling local public transport but they’re, ahem, 5-10 years away.

    Hydrogen Vs BEV cars.

What’s not to like. Given that’s its likely to be around 5 years away*, assuming scalability and availability problems are overcome, it will have to compete with whatever the current, readily available technologies have evolved into. I’m being generous here. One of my bests mates adidas work on...

    Hydrogen Vs BEV cars.

Ahh, I missed that part. To quote the article "Although just a concept now..." or to put it another way "Toyota now don't currently have a car you can refill with hydrogen anywhere you like" I apologise to Rod my oversight of the second post, but I am leaving my objection on the table.

    Electric cars.

    1) Yes 2) Yes - actually looking at options to replace my 100k+ mile Tesla in the new year. EV's still make far more sense for my high mileage lifestyle. Road tax changes won't impact on that.

    Hydrogen Vs BEV cars.

Sorry Rod, you're wrong on all counts. "Anywhere you like, as long its London or Sheffield" is probably more correct. (Map of current H-stations attached). We've been over the environmental arguments for EV's too many times in this thread. I'll just say that no one has provided a satisfactory...

    Collaborative Brew Schedule - 2024

The last swap of the year is upon us, the slow burner Biere De Garde. Hands up if you have one to share. 🙋‍♂️ - I'm in for one.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Cheers for that, it certainly looks very pretty in the picture. I’m pleased with how this one turned out. Like you, I had no real idea about the style apart from one drunken night on holiday in France 10 years ago.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Pre-dinner Negroni. This is sublime, made in an overly camp fashion by a very impressive mixologist on the roof top bar at the hotel. It’s funny how every now and again you get an outstanding version of a cocktail. They’re all made with the same ingredients, but a whole lot of love went into...

Don't know what this is but it’s tasting great. Annual golf shambles is in Marbs this year, so it’s something Spsnish.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

@phildo79 Hope the heads ok today. Both beers are user uppers, the first is one of my Irish Red recipes with a bit of chocolate rye substituted in. The other was a Kölsch recipe but fermented with Cali Lager yeast. I was worried the under fill on the bottle might have allowed a bit of...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Final @phildo79 beer in my stash. It‘s exactly what it says on the tin bottle. Dark chocolate and hazelnut flavours in abundance. It’s a classic flavour combination in a top class beer. Great job mate, I really loved this. Best of luck sourcing a more politically sensitive hazelnut extract...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

This was in a keg at @phildo79‘s pad a couple of hours ago. Now it’s going into me! Great effort, very close to the original and a lovely beer to drink. Cheers mate, lovely way to start a bit of time off.
