    Keg post question

I think we may be talkingbat cross purposes! I know how to remove the post from the keg if thats what you mean

    Keg post question

so, once you've taken off the keg, you can then unscrew the base of the unit from the rest of the unit? Can't see how there'd be anything to grip onto to enable that?

    Keg post question

How do you dismantle them for cleaning? The others seem to break down into smaller components but I can't see how this type do?

No Chill Cube- wort transfer question

Last night i tried this very thing for the first time. But I just transferred from kettle to cube using a siphon tube. Very quickly I noticed the tube got very soft (doubt it was "heat rated"!) but it didn't melt and wort was successfully transferred. Now two things concern me with the "heat...

    American Pale

Never tried them before but, as you say, they seem to be a mix of all the hops I like (apart from Chinook): "Falconer’s Flight® is a proprietary blend of Pacific Northwest hops. These include 7 “C” hops, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Citra®, Cluster, Columbus and Crystal in addition to...

    Spent Grains & Hops

The best way may be to reuse as food. Eg by drying/grinding up for flour to make bread with (you could even use the yeast from the brew too for this). Granted this will be a relative ballache compared to just scooping up and binning it (which is what i have been doing) but its an option!

    Anyone milling their own flour?

I was wondering about giving this a go. Hope you don't mind me asking how much did the 3 roller grinder cost you?

    GU:BU Ratio

If you're aiming for an ESB or an English IPA, I'd say recipe needs to increase the bitterness slightly in the recipe

    GU:BU Ratio

I've been using brewgr as it's good and free but recently starting using brewmate as it has a 'no chill' compensation button (not sure how accurate it is - but time will tell!)

    GU:BU Ratio

I tend to like brewing APAs and IPAs so tend to shoot for a ratio of around 0.7 - 0.85. I tend to brew 5% ish beers so that would roughly equate to a GU of around 50. So my ideal IBUs would sit around 35 - 45 region but each to their own!

    GU:BU Ratio

Your OG is 1.051 so GU = 51. Your IBU = 26 Your BU:GU ratio is therefore 0.5 Look at the chart below to see where your ratio sits against the "ideal" for the desired style:

Kegerator Build time to be brave

I put my taps on the door so that was a safe bet. Anywhere else, follow banbeer's advice. Re. PTFE tape, I wrapped it around anything in the set up that had a thread on it (just to be safe!)
