Has anyone tried making a mash tun from one of those heated coolbox's? They say they can get to 65C so I was thinking this might be a great way of reducing heat loss during a mash?

At what point do all these 'aids' actually be come distractions? In my early car driving days, there was no sat nav, Bluetooth or touch screen etc.. whilst driving along I could change the radio channel or volume etc without even having to look away because there were physical buttons to press...

How can two Recipies with same OG & FG have such drastically different ABV values? 5.5 Vs 8.4 What am I missing?

3kw heater should easily boil 25L, are you sure it's 3kw?

most people use an old fridge off of ebay or similar £10 ish and put a tube heater in it controlled via a thermostat.

The latter is just a kettle, i.e. water heater for heating strike water. The other is the full shabang with filters for the grain etc.

Never tried a Protofloc table... You can get protofloc in power form which is what I use. Having done a brew recently and forgot to use the protofloc, I can confirm they do make a difference as the brew has turned out hazy even after using a clearing agent.

Just chuck it in, it'll be fine. My experience with liquid yeast is it takes 24hrs to kick off, not sure why.
