What kit beer are you drinking tonight?

Festival wheat kit with 1kg spraymalt wheat. Buckled the lid on my fermenting bucket! In the keg on Saturday afternoon at 30psi, gave it a shake, then left it 24 hours. Reduced the pressure to 3psi and poured it through a party tap/bottling wand combo (I find the party tap to be too lively...

What kit beer are you drinking tonight?

Supping my first ever homebrew tonight, the Cooper's Hefeweizen. It's very drinkable, although a little bland. A slice of orange in it has really added to the flavour though and made it a very enjoyable wheat beer. Very happy with it. Prost!

    CO2 in Central Scotland

Is it cool to highlight good suppliers on here? I read someone posting about this company on here through a Google search and I think it could do with being highlighted. Lothian Supply Company in Livingston. £50 to purchase a 6kg cylinder full of CO2. You own the cylinder. Refills are a...

    Keg Kingdom come up trumps

Ordered last Friday so a week exactly. I had emailed him on Monday, partly because I was concerned with reviews and also I did have a query (about ball-lock and pin-lock) but that and a fb pm got no response. 2 telephone calls rung out to answerphone. It would be great if he could hire...

    Keg Kingdom come up trumps

I posted in another thread that I had ordered from Keg Kingdom, not realising they had some poor reviews. Been panicking a bit since, but my order arrived this morning and I'm very impressed. Ordered 2 kegs and a starter kit. Both kegs are Coca Cola-style but have had new ball-lock lid and...

What is the "beer in post connection and barb" @Gerryjo ? What would I do a search for, or do you have a link to one?

Looking to buy 2 corny kegs

Good news, just got an email to say my kegs will be delivered tomorrow. He really needs to work on his communication but if my order arrives as described, I can't complain really. His price was unbeatable, especially with the discount. Perfect timing actually, tomorrow my brew will have been...

Anyone tried both the MJ wheat kit and the Festival German Weiss?

These along with a couple of comments on a homebrew fb group have made my mind up. Did you change it at all? Add any DME? @Jordang I drink wheat beers almost exclusively these days, with the odd lager thrown in. Once I get a stock built up I'm going to try some different style of kits athumb..

Anyone tried both the MJ wheat kit and the Festival German Weiss?

Just had both delivered and will be starting one on Friday when my Cooper's wheat kit is ready for kegging. Thoughts on them? Does either stick out?

Looking to buy 2 corny kegs

That's good to hear. They did email me immediately with confirmation of the order and who the shipper will be so I'm not too worried yet. Also, I used PayPal. I can claim a refund if they mess up, right?

    CO2 help

Get yourself some basic kit - 2x fermenting vessels (1 with a tap), sanitiser, bottling aids, etc and find an extract kit that grabs your fancy, then just dive right into the easy side of brewing. It's still a lot to get your head around but starting with extract kits will help to simplify...

Great price. I know a guy with a garage, I'll ask him how he gets his CO2 as I assume he uses it for welding.

It's the same price with Hobbyweld everywhere AFAIK, except they wanted £70 deposit. Is yours for the 10l/6kg bottles?

    CO2 help

Just for info in case anyone else is looking for it. You can set up an account with BOC gases, then pay £5 a month by direct debit to hire a 10l cylinder. Refills are £35. Seems pretty decent, although you do need to be able to take the cylinder to their depot for refills as they won't...

Thanks for the replies folks. Looks like I'll just have to bite the bullet on it. I'll try to source somewhere local this afternoon.
