New Allgrain set up starting in garage

A cheap option is a washing machine valve for £1.60. A 15mm compression one side and the 3/4" bsp the other plus a handy tap in the middle.

    Water Treatment.

Surely only with water treatment. It's so easy to do, especially with the guides on the forum that why wouldn't you do it to allow the brewing of different beers...........buy beer insteadashock1

Small Corny vs Stainless Mini Keg

I have 3 19l ones, just looking for the smaller batches and camping. The small ones seem to fetch almost new price. Sounds like MK is probably a good way for me.

    Time and Time again

I agree the old 2+2+2 is a bit short for bottled beer, but in reality it comes down to style. Staying in front is the hard bit but it’s ready when it’s ready, I just put a hefeweizen in the fridge to try tonight that’s only been bottled 9 days but the fresher the better with this style. I’m...

    Getting started with kegs

I got my Adams gas bottle exchanged in Carterton (near Brise Norton), looks like there is also a stockist in Watlington. Check prices/location as after changing jobs it’s a trek for me to get a refill.

Small Corny vs Stainless Mini Keg

Morning all, Does anyone have experience of both keg types? I was going to treat myself to a small corny for my birthday the end of the month to make small batches (fancy a go at a NEIPA) and taking camping as I have several 19l ones. But for similar money you can get a 5l MK and a ball lock...

    Quick Bit Of Advice Please

Degas, swap with sanitised correct post and regas will be fine, I’d run some beer out straight away to clear any air that got in.

Used corny keg - possible leak

When you originally seated the lid how much pressure did you use and did it pop up fully? I’ve got 4 HBC ones one of which the lid is tight in the opening and needs a bit more pressure than the others. I’d give it a few days pressurised to see if it carbs. Is it chilled or room temp?

    Drink and drive limits. [POLL]

Some strong comments on here. I expect most of us on here would not deliberately drink and drive however im not sure we know how quickly we actually process it by the following morning (or if that time is consistent) and especially how long it takes to get back to zero, note that some people...

    Broken oven

Are you looking at the right element, the top picture is the grill. Normally there is a circular one around the fan with terminals quite close to each other (looks like they come through the pressing on the middle picture). On mine (aeg) it is behind a plate inside the oven, in that case it was...

    accurate thermometer question

Thermapen are really good, it’s not just the accuracy but it reads the temperature in a couple of seconds as the probe is thin at the end . The cheap ones take ages. I use it all the time in the kitchen too, steak always spot on.

Corny Keg with direct chrome tap

I’ve one that works ok but never tried with a lager, just some APA with reasonable carbonation. Only advice I could give is drop the pressure right down and try a it. Sometimes opening tap fully instead of throttling back produces less foam. Worse case use a jug to allow to settle
