    Hi

Don't use a counter flow chiller but I do have a counter flow heater in my HERMS. At the end of brew day it gets flushed through with hot water then fresh cold tap water and left full of water until next brew day.

    Making beer in bed

As I only brew every 5 or 6 weeks, I like to make the most of it. My brew day is more like a brew two days. As an outdoor brewer I spend half a day setting my brewery up and cleaning everything. One day brewing. Half a day cleaning and putting brewery away.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Another beer from yesterday's shopping trip. Very low bitterness and easy drinking.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Had an Asahi with a Club sandwich in Warringah Mall after taking my grandson for a haircut and buying him new trainers. Then did the grocery shopping at the local Coles and guess what I came across in the bottlo next door (@foxy ).... Nice easy drink. Had a couple 😂

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Visited the local bottlo and bought some cans of Cerveza from Freshwater brewery who are not far from where I'm staying. Visited the brewery last week and enjoyed a glass of this beer on tap. The canned beer is ok but the on tap version was more flavoursome :beer1:

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

After a misty and murky day exploring the Blue Mountains and The Three Sisters... Finished the day in the RSL Katoomba for dinner (tea for those north of Luton 😂) and one of these, the name I'm still unable to pronounce... Nice beer 👍🏻

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Indeed it was 👍🏻. I had a hazy across the road at another brewery, Freshwater brewery, and was a disappointment 😔. Lacking in body and flavour. But the 7th Day was spot on.

    Cordless controller

If you're looking to regulate your mash temperature I found an electric HERMS a la @The-Engineer-That-Brews approach to be the best solution. I tried to do it on my gas burner with manual control but wasn't successful. So just used gas burner for heating strike water and the boiler eventually...

Help with stainless steel thread size

I'm confused. Not the first time 😂. I think your taps are 1/2" BSP tapered male fittings. Might be wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️. 15mm compression fittings have 1/2" BSP parallel male threads. Ideally you need a 1/2" BSP female tapered connector for your taps. Not too clear on what you want to connect these taps...

    Hazelwood’s Brewday Part 2

That's exactly what I've done in the past, even left it overnight to settle out. The tap in my boiler/kettle must be low as I don't seem to be able to eliminate the first litre or so that is very trubby as it settles at the tap entry. Then as the level drops, I throttle the flow back but trub is...
