Proposed AG setup - along the right lines?

I’ve got fermenting buckets I’ve been using for kit brews. Perhaps I should just stick with that and forget the conical for a few months... maybe get one of those pumps and find a way to do a pumped transfer from fermenter to keg... maybe that’s a better option

Proposed AG setup - along the right lines?

But I’m scared hahaha I think I need to watch that video a few dozen times lol I think I’ll end up going for a brewzilla in all reality, just a shame I can’t fit a conical in my brew fridge so will need to change something there. probably go for this...

Proposed AG setup - along the right lines?

Yep digiboil purely for sparge if I go brewzilla so thought by starting with the digiboil, it allows me to do BIAB, the. When I add the brewzilla down the line, the boiler will be left for sparge duties alone...unless I’m missing something which is certainly possible I like that with the...

Proposed AG setup - along the right lines?

Ah I have a brew fridge, and kegerator so it’s really just the brew gear

Proposed AG setup - along the right lines?

See I’m keen on the brewdevil, but from what I’ve seen, I still need a boiler, so thought it a good place to start I.e start with the boiler allowing me to do BIAB, then I can add the brewdevil down the line if I want to expand. but if it’s best to change that up and start with the brewzilla...

Proposed AG setup - along the right lines?

So taking on board advice from you lot on one of my other threads, Wondered if you could vet my thinking and initial foray into AG. I think BIAB seems a decent way to start so - digiboil...

AG Noob....What should be on the shopping list?

haha, well there is that....well my brew days will more than likely be brew nights if I need to be watching it closer. 5 hours off parenting duties wouldn't be fair really, but he sleeps pretty well so will be an evening thing I guess. Can't do it during the week due to work, and weekends is...

AG Noob....What should be on the shopping list?

I don't mind staying with it, but didn't think i'd need to be watching it for 5 hours, i.e. thought some phases were a case of leaving it to do it's work for a period of time.

AG Noob....What should be on the shopping list?

oh I don't mind the time it takes - as long as I'm not standing staring at it for 5 hours.

    conditioning Temps

Hi all, yes me again :) so, conditioning... lots of my kits suggest "warm" or "cold" for conditioning. my query is what's warm and what counts as cold? I mean the cider kit suggested cold, so it's sitting in the keg in the fridge. Wine seems to want warm - so how warm we talking? I don't...

    Which Hydrometer/Refractometer?

Hi all, I guess this is an opinion based query but at the moment, I don't really use anything, I brew kits and leave things to do what they're doing and go from there. But as with my other posts, I'm aiming to go AG in the new year so assume I need to be more informed about what's going on and...

    AG Cooler requirements

looks good but no airlock? I assume that's because it can be pressurised? so any excess is merely released from the safety valve? So, i've got my finished brew (whatever it's called at this point i'm rubbish with terminology) ready from the BIAB system - ready for fermenting. Can I just stick...

    Guiness Clone?

Ahhh gotcha (did wonder what the difference was) ok so that's a definite place to start then for sure. Will have to read up on BIAB and get the digiboiler
  14. Hudson1984

    Guiness Clone?

Yeah I was looking at the digiboiler in my proposed setup - so you recon I should just start there and go BIAB for a while? then move to AG after a bit of practise?

    AG Cooler requirements

ah ok... something to think on then. I'm sure it'll all become clearer once I get a brew under my belt. Just need to get the gear in place.....hopefully lockdown ends and I can find a local on here who fancies a brew day to show me the ropes.

    Guiness Clone?

yea the only thing stopping me doing that is buying the stockpots lol! I hate buying something to then replace it soon after, I'd rather jump into brewzilla and give that a bash from the off.

    AG Cooler requirements

the Glycol thing just seems massively expensive and takes up space. Floor space isn't something I have alot of, I've got loads of room on worktops but not much floor space and i'd rather not move everything again. My issue will be water supply. I do have a sink but it's in the other end of the...

    AG Cooler requirements

gotcha, so the GF thing is MASSIVELY overkill for the job it's doing, unless you have multiple fermenters on the go. have to go measure the brew fridge, see if the conicle I want will fit.

    AG Cooler requirements

Ok, i'm slowly looking at this AG malarkey and seeing what I need. I will probably go for a grainfather type system, more than likely Brewzilla. So, I get the BZ bit, I get the boiler bit. Only thing that's getting me is the conical/fermenter. Now, I've seen grainfather do a glycol...

    Guiness Clone?

See i'm going for the "in for a penny in for a pound" route - I've got the brew fridge, got a kegerator. So may as well finish off with an AG setup haha. I've part converted the garage into our bar, just need to sort the heat and cooling and we're away. We go out there every friday for a night...
