Newbie help with festival golden stag

Sounds like your almost there, I'd leave it be until Wednesday ish or whenevers convenient, take another reading I'm guessing it will be the same, kit instructions are way too optimistic with brew length and gravity. Set you FV where your going to be bottling, cool is good, and leave for 24hrs...

Sorry went off half cocked lol ......... this is why timing is important. You shouldn't have much/any in your bottles if you use the filter bag that comes with the kit, worth saving to as they're reusable.

Hi Sounds like your pretty much on course, I'd be surprised if your gravity reading went up, it can be hard to get accurate readings in the FV. Removing your hops once they're in will be v difficult especially if you crushed them :-D

    Confused!

Strange, like you say prob best leaving until ute and check again, I was wondering if you use VWP as it can linger if not rinsed thourghly. Fingers crossed for Tue then :hat:

    Confused!

Did you mix your wort up thourghly? I tested OG of a brew once with my new sample jar - 1030!! Wtf! I was tempted to meddle but my instinct was leave it be. It came out fine, I'd just not mixed the wort completely. I'm sure yours will be fine. What do you sanitise with? Rob.

Stuck Brew or needs more time?

If it's still at 22' and you've given it a stir there's not that much more you can do (it defo won't rust lol) take a couple of hydro readings, if it's still steady bottle it with recommended priming amount 4.2 is reasonable. Kit blurb can be optimistic at best, although you didn't state your OG.

Another no bubbles in Airlock question

Alternatively throw it away!! They're just a gimmick. You presume right though. No bubbles no seal. Just use the bulge in your lid as a gauge you'll find your brew v popular btw 1 BBQ = 1 empty barrel :drink:

I'm not sure why you'd only use half the hops as this is the character of Golden stag. The froth you get when pouring from a height is a positive, I pitch my yeast straight on top. Some brewers use a plasters whisk to really froth it up. I could set off on a rant about the utter rubbish some...

Hi Geordie You picked a crackin brew a real fav of mine! Please don't hop as per instructions they're way too optimistic. Give it 10 days from pitching at least, then check gravity is stable (3 days in a row) if so, beat your hop pellets in the bag with a rolling pin and sprinkle on top and...

    Leaking tap

I would only put Vaseline on the tap side or you'll be inviting more problems. PTFE tap is only designed to fill the gap between two contacts of metal, I'm not sure of its food safe rating either. Just my opinions
