    Brewing Saison Advice

Sounds good. There are actually a few rhubarb beers out there and they're a mixed bag. Sounds like yours hit the spot. A basic saison is a cracking beer. Probably the most refreshing thing for a summer day. I'll make a few more when the weather picks up. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

Brewferm Tarwebier - Temperature and Sugar

Just use normal white sugar or, if you want a better flavour, wheat extract. You don't need Belgian candi sugar for a witbier. A cooler fermentation is fine for Belgian yeast. It's not a strong beer so shouldn't need tons of time to come good. Don't worry about clarification with a wheat...

The 'Recommend me a TV series' thread

I really enjoyed Vikings and Man in the High Castle. Currently watching Hand of God which is also great. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

Bengal lancer and 1845 do. Autocorrect tried to change that to bungalow lancer. I don't know why but that tickled me! Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

    Bohemian Pilsner vs Vienna Lager

Vienna lager uses a base of Vienna malt which is darker. Bohemian pilsner malt is just as pale as normal pilsner malt. They both have a strong flavour of the base malt but the malts are different. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

Beer about to be made cheaper post brexit

Beer is cheaper pretty much everywhere in the EU than it is in the UK in my experience. Once again the sun is playing into a nostalgic idea of britishness to push it's own agenda. Our own government could reduce tax on beer if it wanted to. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

That's a shame. Looks like it'll be a while before he's urinating in any car parks.

What would the ultimate brew machine/set up be?

It's well worth the money in my view. The build quality is absolutely incredible. If you like continental styles then the automated step mashing in particular is amazing. That's why I got one. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

Good Afternoon - Flixon Breweries Here - Haylp!

Leave it longer, it'll have further to ferment so it'll get a bit more poke to it. Sugar will weaken the glorious flavour of lidl's finest apples. I'm sure you'll be sleeping on park benches and picking fights with imaginary people in no time. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

What would the ultimate brew machine/set up be?

You've pretty much described a braumeister which costs about 1300. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

Looking for a good versatile Belgian yeast

You can use it cooler and it's cleaner. I've used it at 17-18 c before. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

    St Peters Golden Ale

Golden syrup won't do much for it. It'll up the abv but reduce body. Not much use in a two can kit. If you want to add strength some light malt extract would do the trick. A dry hop will give you some extra hop flavour and aroma. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

    Wyeast for Timothy Taylor Landord

If you feel adventurous now you have a conical flask you could try building a stir plate at some point in the future. It's not that much work. I'm incredibly clumsy and rubbish at electronics and I managed to get it to work. All you need is a magnetic stir bar and can then get efficient...

    Bottling - Big bottles

I cork and cage 750ml bottles and they look really good. Like people say, the second glass will have gunk but good for sharing or gifts. Malt miller sells corks you can use for beer. You get the nice mushroom effect when they've sat for a while. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

    Fermentis T-58 Yeast

Apparently de Struise uses it and they make really good beers. I've heard De Ranke do as well. Only used it once myself and the beer turned out decent but I'm not sure I'd use it over liquid yeasts on the market for the same styles. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

Braumeister Brew 2 - Blond Biere de Garde

I just picked up WLP072 from Malt Miller although I might have got the last one. BBE date is in a few weeks but if you get a starter going it should be alright. I'm sure it comes out around this time in the year anyway. I don't have temp control but I try to keep it around 18C if I can for the...

Braumeister Brew 2 - Blond Biere de Garde

After just over two weeks in the bottle this is killing all my other blond beers hands down. It has that nice slightly corny pilsner malt aroma and flavour I've been trying to get with a real delicate honeyed sweetness. After trying these first few brews I think I might actually marry the...
