    Morning all Has anyone used bottled mineral water before for they're brewing, I'm sure I've seen a thread on here in the past however I couldn't find it, plus I'm sure it's to do with the Ph levels by using it... Anyway, thoughts/experiences along with pro's and con's chaps ? Cheers

    I use heating jackets from immersion heaters the red insulation ones, can still get them in DIY supermarkets. They work a treat

    Can't beat a good wort chiller tbh, I made my own years ago and it's still my trustee coil, saves time if your an eager beaver brewer :beer1:

    I like using Crystal however in moderation like you say it darkens and sweetens it I normally use 50 50 being 50 Crystal and 50 rolled or fake oats which gives a good cream head and colours it well on my golden ales, dex I tend to not use as much these days as I find you get natural sweeteness...

    My first ever brew was a stout lovely it was, came out at 6.8%ABV lovely cream head well chuffed i was....only issue after about 4 pints felt like you had bells phaulsy numb on or side of the face if your unsure what it is Id gladly dig out the recipe if you want

    Anyone done the above before, along with added flavours extra I'm looking at adding Black currant extract to my nicely coloured plum wine with GRAPE Extract, id tasted it before I racked up however thought to myself hmm could do with a little something extra - any thoughts peeps
