Supermarket Juice Wine How To guide and Recipes.

Made some mango/apple and pineapple WOW. Fermented down to dry - racked onto campden and stabiliser- degassed and topped up with apple juice. Added finings and looks like the yeast has not been killed off and started to slowly ferment again :( - will it ferment out and then clear or will I need...

Supermarket Juice Wine How To guide and Recipes.

I have made couple of forum favourites and they turned out well. Will leave them couple of weeks in bottle to mellow (if they last that long). Took advice to have more on the go to build up stash. After a quick stop at wilkos and supermarket have another two on the go. 1L mango Rubicon 1L...

The Range make your own rosé wine kit.

Thank you! That’s what I thought. Did smell weird to start with but as it was my first one of those kits ploughed on... even though I am not a expensive wine drinker I could not get on with this one. I am sure it’s really seldom but this kit was not right. Bad luck I suppose. Waiting for them to...

The Range make your own rosé wine kit.

What a shame. Did not improve at all even when chilled. So gutted! Had high hopes for this one as him indoors likes that barefoot rose ... must have been off kit :( the rose WOW is great but might be too dry for him (nothing a bit of strawberry squash can not sort out). Well. Contacted the...

Supermarket Juice Wine How To guide and Recipes.

Oh the favourite rose turned out great. So did the pineapple (could not believe how fast it all fermented- weather helped!) now onto some more experimenting. Mango/pineapple/apple and dash of passion fruit ready for clearing - had a sneaky taste and is lovely!

Defo not white. Looks like it was oxidised juice or something? Bottled and see if it improves. Does not taste like vinegar but has got that apple sauce/marshmallow sniff about it. Did not want to dump it all

The Range make your own rosé wine kit.

Should have known better to be honest. When I opened the bag and saw the dark browny orange syrup (smelled a bit of marshmallows or golden syrup) l thought it looked off :( what a shame. Have a FV full of this now...

The Range make your own rosé wine kit.

This is how it looks like. Definitely orange and not rose :( the pouch when opened was also this colour but much darker. Still hoped it would work out ok. Not sure ..does it look right?.

Oh ok. Was a bit strange when opened the juice pack- thought it was off colour... maybe got a different batch, tastes ok at the moment. Still more pale orange than rose... hopefully works out ok.

Would anybody be able to tell me what colour rose is it supposed to be? I have done one just now. Fermented and put the finings in now and waiting for it to clear. However from the start it was more of a orange hue rose - it will probably change the colour but the colour of juice from the pouch...

I have precipitated chalk I have used for my rhubarb country wine (That one will take ages) would that help? No pH papers... really only got back to making wine recently. Years ago did few wilkos and elderflower one- but did not have to do much to those as worked out fine :)

Supermarket Juice Wine How To guide and Recipes.

Noob question ... I am experimenting with some pineapple and apple juice WOW, it’s nearly done at 994, tastes very nice like a light table white, however rather sharp - I like dry wines but this one is quite acidic. I will be racking it and stabilising soon and then clearing, thinking of...

Supermarket Juice Wine How To guide and Recipes.

I think I am going a bit crazy with making wine :) look forward to trying it. Currently have quite a batch on the go. Banana, Rhubarb, Range rose and couple of WOW - original forum rose favourite and modified on where I banged a bottle of Rock organic blackcurrant in instead of some of the apple...

Supermarket Juice Wine How To guide and Recipes.

Hello. I wonder if anybody could help :) I have been browsing this thread for a while and while I have made few kit wines, embarked on the forum favourite rose today after a quick visit to Waitrose for their Merlot grape juice. (Bubbling happily within half an hour of assembly) Now the question...

Hello from a novice brewer :)

Indeed I have :) thank you. I will try the Rose first without experimenting too much with flavours - off to the shops to get some juice. Got a Waitrose near by and they got quite a good selection of pure juices. In meantime I have rhubarb and banana wine on go (experiment...) third day in, but...

Hello from a novice brewer :)

Hello. Warm and sunny in summer and really freezing in winter :) - oh I don’t know about asking me for advice :) I was not that interested when little apart from having to pick the grapes and help crushing them! I am so glad I found this forum- will be trying the Forums favourite rose :)
