    Is Gelatine Required?

Have a look at it. You should be able judge it but adding gelatine now won't do any harm

    Di-acetyl Rest

My experience of 34/70 is that it ferments hard and fast with no diacetyl at low temperatures so if that pilsner yeast is the same thing day 10 will be too late to do any rest but you won't need one

    Corny Fridge

A chest freezer and inkbird controller would work well. I use mine as a fermentation chamber and put the keg in it for dispense afterwards. The inkbird allows me to just dial in the desired temperature. Due to space limitations I had to get a small freezer and it only fits one keg but bigger...

    Craft Beer and IPA

I'm no fan of craft IPA either. My heart sinks when I see the words IPA, Pale Ale, New World or American Hops on a beer label. I dislike citrus or tropical tastes in a beer. However, I realise that many people do like those tastes. I don't think the beer they like is necessarily badly made, it's...

How are you guys conditioning at 12c?

Like others, I have one fridge (actually a small chest freezer) that I use for fermentation, conditioning and serving. It does limit the number of brews I can do but that's fine Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

    Grainfather upgrade worth it ?

I deliberated about buying a Grainfather just like you're doing. I had a functional system using a boiler and picnic cooler box that worked very well for years but I ended up balancing things on other things. It was never a completely satisfactory set up. I've been very pleased with my...

    Grainfather Micro pipe smallest batch?

Since buying my Grainfather all but two of my brews have been 10L using the small batch pipework. It works well but you do end up with a fairly slack mash with a 1048 beer and for that reason I'm not sure how much lower than 10L you could go unless you were making a monster beer. At 1048 you're...

    grainfather - efficiency

I've done two brews with my Grainfather. The first one came out at 75% and the second at 83%. I'm making 10 litre batches though so maybe that will influence the figures. I have a couple of 23 litres AG kits so I'll make those and report back my findings.

Advice before my first 'Big' Brew...

Looks like a nice kit. If you've got any outdoor space I'd see if you can do the boil outside. It makes life a lot less messy than doing it in the kitchen. I mash indoors using the boiler as a hot liquor tank, run off the mash tun into a fermenting bin then sparge. Then I move the boiler outside...
