    Veganuary.

I was a vegetarian for around 18 months, to be fair i felt a lot better. gave it up because i got frustrated with (in my view) limited choice . Got really bored of Quorn too. My vegan mate Julie has been trying to source a good vegan red wine, no expert but has it got something to do with...

If you hate Sprouts this will make your day.

This happened in a town down the road from me. The whole area is now sick of sprouts due to the "free for all". Area a tad smelly now too..

    Noob questions on first kit

I thought about AG, but I have to say that I'm happy with kits/tweaking. Was thinking about maybe an air still instead of AG equipment

    Quick conditioning stout

Agree with the Coopers Stout for quick turnaround, Im a relative newbie. Was @terrym who gave me good recipes/advice. Think i overdid it with the treacle tho lol

    What's your Christmas brew?

Been building up a stock for crimbo. St Peters Stout, Evil Dog Double IPA, Some Porter and more IPA ( cant remember the kit), Some wine too. All stashed in the greenhouse which comes in handy during the winter months. Your Witbier sounds interesting!

Grolsh no more in the UK

I managed to get to around 80 Grolsch bottles, it was a case of buying them for £1.50 as opposed to 2 quid for an empty swing top at my local homebrew store. The beer was awful imo. I keep an eye on Gumtree for empty swingtops, bought some recently, a German brand. 5 bucks for 20 empties and a...

    Howdy from Teesside

Hello Good luck with the band, been making red wine and white kits for over a year now. I usually buy Solomon Grundy Platinum kits, they come at around £33 and take around 2 weeks from start to bottling. They are 30 bottle kits but i usually brew a little short and end up with around 25...

1 year of brewing - what worked, what didn't

Good post, i have been brewing for around 18 months, my first brew was ok, the 2nd i put in a keg. Did not carb up. Have since dumped the kegs and now bottle using mostly swing tops. I now dry hop and dont really mind if a little finds its way into the odd bottle. Yeah, patience seems to be...

    Favourite Stout Kit.

Hi, Cooppers Irish stout brewed short with some treacle is pretty good. Ive just bottled a St Peters cream stout, had a taste after 2 weeks carbing and tastes quite promising

    Batch Priming

I usually make a syrup using perhaps 3 cups of water, but i have a 2nd FV. Unless you just use the priming sugar in each bottle.
