    The Coronavirus thread.

@the baron thanks for your post, I read half of it, but it is really hard to read, maybe add spaces between some lines? Anyway, yes you are right, each gov take a chance and they do what ever they think is best. What is strange here, is that most of the world is taking a different approach, even...

    The Coronavirus thread.

There is no preventing measures for visitors in care homes and such, we already know that people without symptoms do spread it - I think is is the policy of the government to let it spread everywhere, as BJ said people will die. So maybe they decided, no point going against it. Let it go and we...

    The Coronavirus thread.

As someone who works in a school I can see for and against when it comes to closing them. Kids do hug, shake hands, stay really close to each other, most of the schools around here are over capacity, so during breaks and lunch they do crowd together in tight spaces, especially when it rains. In...

Why are Tilts so expensive and can you justify the cost of buying them

Can't justify one, - my brewing shed is quite far away from the house, even wifi doesn't get there. - I use fermentation fridge that keep constant temp - my fementers have taps, so easily I can pour into test jar - always ferment for at least 2 weeks, so far every beer finished in that...

    The Coronavirus thread.

Each country has own advisers, as you said time will show who was right. Interesting for was at one point they said that they more less know the mortality rate and general statistics. In other section they have admitted that thousands more are infected, but they don't know because we didn't...

    The Coronavirus thread.

Have not been in Taiwan or Hong Kong, but went to Singapore last year. Different culture than ours, they are much more obeying the rules, they are cleaner (no rubbish on the street etc) public services are kept to higher standards. Anyway, it looks like it is a guessing game and each country...

    Ghillie's Keezer Build Thread

@Ghillie thank you so much, brilliant. I have already picnic tap with 3/16 line and stem reducers - just need to get another one. Already have main regulator, so will use just 2 kegs at once, so for now I have a splitter for gas line, will go into secondary regulators later. Cheers again

    Ghillie's Keezer Build Thread

Sorry to resurrect of old thread, just finished keezer (but without the taps). It is a small one (55cm square), I was surprised that after putting 2 kegs and can fit 2 more :) Anyway, looked at taps and what I need, kines, faucets and so on. So far it looks around £100 for 2 @Ghillie do you...

    The Coronavirus thread.

It is really weird, that some governments did that and some didn't (Italy is totally different kettle of fish). Smaller countries like Czech, Poland, Romania did it, bigger countries like France Germany and us, still holding of. I guess they all have their own scientific advisers. My guess...

    The Coronavirus thread.

I think not (and I work in school), by how they (gov) presenting it, looks like they want to keep things open as long as possible. Almost like it is all good, nothing is really happening. Easter holidays soon, the probably hoping nothing has to be done till than

    Trub yeast re-use

I usually don't bother, but as experiment I want to reuse voss from lallemand. I have a small jar and gong to pitch small amount , as you supposed with Kveik. As dry yeast is quite cheap, most of the time I use that. @strange-steve great post mate.

    8 days to Brew?!?

More sugar, can lead to longer fermentation. Taste can be affected as well. Other might add more information, as I have never added more than kit said.

@kelper where you live you might get access to some cask strength whisky (around 60%) :) - but that would be quite expensive sanitiser

    8 days to Brew?!?

You should manage to bottle and carbonate it , maturation will be short, but it should be drinkable. Lagers do benefit of longer and colder maturation - laggering. Fermentation wise, just rely on hydrometer readings.

    The Coronavirus thread.

I work in a school, would be great to have few days off, but honestly I doubt they will close school in entire country. They might do few here and there. Cases are growing at faster rate now, I think it was around 70 from Sat to Sun. I live in the part of the country were there are lots of care...

    The Coronavirus thread.

I can understand now why some people are just bit on edge. Me, my wife, nearest friends - nothing to worry about. But I know lots of people at work who says, they have elderly and fragile relatives, people after chemo, diabetics and so on. I live in the area where there are lots of care homes...
