You can of course release some of the pressure by unscrewing the cap a little until you hear a hiss (then tighten again quickly). That usually calms my PBs down for the first few pints...

@Merkin - you won't be disappointed - it has a really moreish biscuity taste, and great head retention. I haven't done any other Beerworks kits yet, but plan to this year. Which would you recommend? I'm open to anything as long as the quality is there. Amazing that this level can be achieved...

Yes, if it was stable for a couple of days you should be fine. 😀

@Rover69 - be careful with the idea that you can control the strength of the brew by bottling before the fermentation is complete - it doesn't really work like this; the fermentation will just continue in the bottle instead (powered by your priming sugar), so you'll end up with the same strength...

You can always fill a plastic bottle or two from the barrel, then chuck em in the fridge instead. I do this quite happily - as long as you're going to get on and drink them, this works a treat (think of it as a personal commitment!). It's also a good way to hand out your beer to non-brewing...

Yes, the JIPA should restore your faith in brewing! There's little more frustrating than a rubbish brew....all that effort, then the reluctance/guilt when you finally chuck it all away...

Havent tried this one yet. How does this stack up against the MJ Juicy IPA? Have done that and the Raspberry Berliner Weiss, and they've both been total winner. Now torn between the Simcoe and the Brut IPAs for the next one...

I'm on a Beerworks Golden Rocket Strong Pale. Been in the bottle for just over a month and I'm mightily impressed. Lots of body and a lovely silky mouth feel. Absolutely pub standard beer. A Beerworks Golden Rocket Strong IPA went into the FV about four hours ago. It's kicked off already! Lots of malt extract too - 4.2kg in total. Reckon it'll be a chewy number.
