    1ft heater for inkbird

I got one of these from CEF as they were just up the road. I have it in the bottom of the Larder fridge in the Bat Cave and I built a shelf with legs...don't forget to put holes on the shelf. Seems to work perfect for 23ltrs (also have have space for 1 DJ and 40 bottles)...

    Bat Cave brewing

Next kit is on the go, again its a Wilko kit.. The Thirsty Devil Red Ale. Used 500g Med spray, 1kg brewing sugar, ditched the kit yeast & used a Wilko Gervin pack and used the 17p spring water from Asda but only to 20ltrs. SG 1.050 After reading a lot and with the sages advice here, i'm...

    1st go

Back from Asda with the RGJ as per the one in the pic and apple juice both from the refrigerated aisle (and all 100%...checked it twice!) Just started this off as per the recipe (again checked everything twice), so lets see how this one goes. The last lot at least cleaned the drains up lovely...

    Bat Cave brewing

The Range's MYO Stout is done and nice and clear (as well as you can see through very dark brew). Managed 41 which are now in the brew fridge @ 20c for 2 weeks. Had a cheeky taste and it's not a bad taste. Lets hope the next 4 weeks go quick for me to check the output

    1st go

Yes it was DJ2 the Apple juice was from Aldi but the RGJ was the one I picked up from Sainsburys. Think I'll put this down to experience and go to Asda and get the refrigerated RGJ and then double check everything as i do it.

    1st go

The 2nd WOW has finished fermenting and again was at .990. To be honest its probably only good for cooking or clearing drains. Its very thin, has no real flavour to it and is very acidy. I did follow the recipe and using the brew fridge have good temp control. Plus i'm super pedantic on...

    Bat Cave brewing

opened a second one.....i think i'll leave them to condition in the garage for a few weeks. I think I was just lucky with the 1st one. On a positive note, carbonation wasn't bad, it was clear and would be good to clear drains or use in cooking

    Bat Cave brewing

Have just moved the Wilko's Mexican Ceveza out of the brew fridge, put on some labels and put them on the garage shelves. Couldn't resist so put one in the fridge. WOW!!! I know its only been in the bottle 2 weeks but its great, nice taste, good carbonation and very clear. This one may not last...

No, but I have done the 6 bottle Chardonnay. Its bottled up and might be ready for a cheeky test at the weekend. Might have to get more DJ's at this rate as I want to try some of the other WOW recipes.

    Bat Cave brewing

Just having a few Wherrys while watching the football. Next time I do this I think I'll brew short to 20lts. It tastes good and good carbonation but 20ltrs may have more body...I'll drink it anyway

    Bat Cave brewing

The Wilko Mezican Ceveza seems to be clearing nicely in the bottles. Just started the Range's MYO Irish Stout. I followed the instructions, but will leave in the brew fridge for 14 days before bottling. Instructions says to add heaped 1tsp of sugar for each 500ml bottle which may make it very...

    1st go
