Centrifuge filter - anyone made one

Yeast type is very important. I did a standard pale ale and used a wheat beer yeast & it's still cloudy after a couple of months.

Picture or Video of the day.

Yes, my brother reports it can be seen as far south as Rickmansworth & my sister says it's quite spectacular in Leeds if you can get outside the city ring road where there is less light pollution. Alas I'm too far south & see nothing but a slight brightening on the horizon, but no colours

That should have been sent to the cloud appreciation society

    Octopus energy

Yes. Apparently you only get the super cheap rate if you have a car charger or one of their approved batteries, have an heat pump withcs certificate (my air to air system isn't covered on this) or (like me) are on legacy economy 7. There is also a variable rate, but that's not got guaranteed...

NHS bosses want chippy to sell fruit and veg

Back in ancient times fish was a low cost protein option. But most have been an expensive luxury for many years. You can still get reasonably priced fresh fish as long as it's mackerel or you have to opt for nondescript frozen white fish from the supermarket

    Beeping

Its all getting too much. Who decides what's important enough to require a beep? Cus when it beeps for the engine is falling apart, your just going to ignore it. Same with who thought it was a good idea to have a touchscreen control in the car to distract the driver.

    Distillers malt

If you ask Google it tells you it can be used as a base malt. It doesn't appear to have much complexity of flavour But it does have good diastatic power. Might work in a wheat beer or with brews high in other grain/adjuncts.

    Octopus energy

If he's seen more than one, then there is obviously a dodgy smart meter installer in his area & he should report that back to octopus and the distribution network supplier.

Munton's Traditional Ale LME kit stuck

Exactly, otherwise we would never be able to harvest yeast for the next batch, or put the wort onto the previous yeast cake would we.

    Electric cars.

That's a bit of an over simplification, as panels vary with daylight. For example overall, I generate as much from my panels in a year as I consume. But I export a lot of surplus in the summer, and import a lot in the winter. Well it was like that last year, but we've had so much gloom & rain...

    How to make Turbo Cider.

At least you can make turbo cider whenever you want using supermarket juice. Try a demijohn & refine your process month after month. It's not like cider from apples where you get 1 harvest a year.

    Electric cars.

Alas there are no industry standards yet to make this easy. My inverter & batteries are not on the Octopus supported list. Also some ev/EV chargers allow you to use a proportion of the cars battery to do this too.

    Electric cars.

More worrying would be to power than from a 50ft extension lead still coiled on its spool. It makes an excellent induction heater & will melt the insulations in no time.

    Printed houses

I'm not sure. I would say it would be unusual here. Part of issue for me is that housing plots in the UK (for normal people at least) are not big enough for that type of build & a factory built prefab style construction would work better.

    Electric cars.

But I've seen this on so called eco estates. Each house has 2 panels (800w max) and a piddly little battery just so the builder can tick the box for the lowest possible cost.

    Confused

Are we going for a best guess based on ingredients if the OG is unknown?

    MYO IPA kit

The forums are full of threads saying 2 + 2 + 2 weeks. It's best practice arrived at by consensus of many homebrewers over many years. The kit instructions are for best case, optimum temperature & rushing to get it complete in the shortest time with a sales pitch of "make your own beer in 3...

If he's doing real beer & not all that erocan style stuff, maybe I should go visit his brewery again
