What are you drinking tonight 2024.

An early start deserves an early beer. Wetherspoons for breakfast and a Twickenham Summer Sun. 0640am. Here comes the Sun. It was light at 0430!☀️✈️😎🍻

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

In the Sandman Hotel near Gatwick. We're on our way to sunny Cyprus (back inland a little from the Paphos area) early in the a.m. A proper Czech Budvar Budweiser in front of the football. Should be a good week away, hopefully I'll find a few craft ales in a supermarket on the drive to our...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Closely to be followed by this special old Claret wine, bought in France a long time ago. For a special occasion tonight. My 68th. It went well with a local farm shop bought proper butcher sirloin. Both amazingly enjoyable. And they were enjoyed, believe me.

Evenin' all, Starting late with my Camden Amber ale. Nothing like it's original Pale ale inspiration now. Still tasty enough. 🍻

So, got me down to Waitrose today (as it's next to Son's house). Put 6 Golden Prides in a box and bought some Pinot Noir as down on that too. Looking forward to trying them all. 🍻🍷

Simmered belly pork with sticky spicy soy sauce and The Guv'nor. I suspect predominantly garnacha grape, whatever it matches wonderfully!

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

A quick early evening thirst quencher of my Camden Amber ale before dinner which will require red wine. 🍷🍻

Fork eyest's sake that's a dangerously good buy! I must get me down to Waitrose pronto!

And now my Camden Amber ale. I'm warm in the Sun, but it's damnably chilly in the shade around the corner.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Evenin' all. First up in the Sun is my new Bitter. Still! not totally bright. Maybe it won't. Hits the spot though. Smooth, hoppy and........... bitter. Just the job. Next up: The tail endings of my Kent hopped pale ale. So rich, malt and the hops. I'm sure the floaters would settle if...

Many thanks for the details, I love that name 'Alchemy Overlord', I'll give that a look. I have only used the Brewersfriend calculator so far, and then often only after the brew for the final IBU. It's not completely random though! I do know the ballpark that it will be, from the recipe...

Run that past me again..... Watering the garden!? Remind me again where you are, Timbuktu? Surely the water table is only at grass root level throughout the entire British Isles. Or is it a case of, "I'm just getting another glass of lager, luv. This garden watering is such dehydrating hot...

Another catch up. My Camden, in the late day's Sun. So well needed after a day refitting a dropping window on our K11 Micra. A pita job. Then for dinner farm shop butcher's beef and this, a serious Romanian Pinot Noir from Waitrose. It was a beautiful day overall, despite the Araldite...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

OK, full evening in one hit: Bottled multi-brew tail ends, blended in Feb. Oldest is from green harvest hops in Sept. Then two more from Nov. I must confess to being pleased it's a drinkable concoction. Worth the effort. Then my Camden Amber ale. Rich and.... Rich! All the delicacy has gone...

Was the Challenger added at different stages, or only for the full boil bittering as I do? If you do, what does it give that you like? I ask as I have quite a fair amount of it in stock.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

And so on to the smaller cask of my Camden Amber ale. Citra has disappeared, but the Simcoe is still evident. Even the later Perle additions. When newer it was more elegant, but it now suits tonight, which is cold, windy, damp and drizzly. Not what I expect on the last of May in SE England...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

My newly casked oh-so-nearly-clear Bitter. Talk about hop flavour progression, with a twist of light and dark crystal malts. Tasty. That didn't last long. Next up the tail ends of my Hoppy Pale ale of Kent. Also tasty, but even more dank. This will do nicely with the pizza. 🍕🍻

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Son came back from a short break in Bruges. Brought us this from The Halve Mann brewery there. SWMBO'd glass is the top half ish of the bottle, I get the bottle conditioned cloudy latter pouring. Spicy overtones on fruity flavour. Very good at 6%.
