Been doing some Christmasing today. Making puff pastry for sausage rolls and filtering my Sloe Rum ready for the big day. And on my Muntons Flagship APA to celebrate them sending me a free hat and a card. Nice guys them Muntons lot!

One from last night, my first ever Orval. I was sleepy from work so this knocked me out 🤣 I'm definitely getting more of these and using the dregs in my next Trappist brew.

Satan has blessed me with another beer this Sabbath And it's bottling day. A batch of Wheat IPA and a Rye IPL which should be ready for Christmas day 🎉

I've got the arduous task of wrapping presents tonight. My Muntons Flagship APA is helping me through. Is one beer per present wrapped acceptable?

Tonight's offering, a barrel aged imperial stout from Clan Brewing. It's roasty stout meets sherry and raisin from the cask conditioning. Quite a burnt acrid finish, which is nice. A little bit thin for my liking though.

Came home to a package today, with a bonus beer. Thanks Satan! What's the etiquette for guessing who sent you beers?

All this talk of Dubbels and Tripels got me jealous... Luckily I've got this cheeky little number (4) I'd been saving. @Alastair70 this one's from the Netherlands and their Tripel is what got me started on my beer obsession. Also, I think I need a new tree, mines looking a bit sad 😅

I've never actually done it personally, but yes, the magnet would drop into the liquid in this case. Lots of people use a teaspoon to weigh their hop bags down so I'm assuming a little magnet wouldn't be an issue.

Last one for the night as I'm back at the workhouse tomorrow morning. A Clan Brewing Golden Ale aged in Highland whisky casks. Very smooth and easy drinking for an 8% beer and the whisky casks have given it a lovely sherry hint which works wonders with the honey malt flavours from the golden ale.

Staying with the Dunkel theme (for now) I'm on one of my last bottles of Dunkels Weiss I bottled back in July. It's crystal clear now! Too clear in fact, so I've swirled the dregs in. Much better!

Use magnets for dry hopping. Fill a muslin with your dry hops and a magnet and attach it to the inside of the fermenter lid with a magnet on the outside. When you're ready to dry hop just remove the magnet and the hops will drop into the beer without the need to remove the lid. My vote for...

Started off with a Muntons Flagship APA. It's getting better with each bottle but I can still taste that homebrew taste I always get from the FILs beers. He only makes extract beers, not AG. Still, it looks the part... Onto a Chimay Tripel to sip whilst I wait for the wife woman to get back...
