    Winebuddy Merloy

Winebuddy Merlot was my first attempt at brewing. I would totally agree, it's more of a dark Rose than a Merlot. However for a wine that I made in 10 days at a cost of approx £1 a bottle, I thought it was pretty good. I've been making Supermarket Juice Wine, Mead and recently started on Country...

First Go At WOW (A.K.A - Supermarket Juice Wine)

My first kit went into Gallo Merlot/ Cab Sav bottles with the original labels and I reused the original screw tops 😯 Then my first go at Supermarket Juice Wine were just in Tesco wine carriers with a single label made from a cereal packet and garden string slung around the neck of one bottle...

First Go At WOW (A.K.A - Supermarket Juice Wine)

I've just been reading CJJ Berrys first steps in winemaking and pretty sure we use the same tap 😯😂 I hadn't realised I'd had it quite so long 🤔

First Go At WOW (A.K.A - Supermarket Juice Wine)

Yeah the original WOW recipe advocates 2.5 litres 100% juice and the rest water. I've been using 2litres of 100% and 1 litre of juice drink (without preservatives) and top up with water. I imagine 5 litres of juice will produce a far 'thicker' solution nearing the consistency of a liquor 🤔...

    Rose hip wine

Well it seems I go around with my eyes shut 😂 found an ample supply of hips within a short walk from home. Oh and elder berry 👍

First Go At WOW (A.K.A - Supermarket Juice Wine)

I checked the labels of the "drinks" that I used and chose only those that had no preservatives and also those that had use within 4-5 days from opening. I hadn't considered artificial sweetners and the cartons have gone now, so I guess time will tell.

First Go At WOW (A.K.A - Supermarket Juice Wine)

Yep agreed. But the heart of the wine is a litre each of Red Grape and Apple, both 100% juice. I think someone advocated 2.5 litres of 100% juice. I've gone with 3 litres, 2 of 100% and 1 litre of drink. See what happens 😊

First Go At WOW (A.K.A - Supermarket Juice Wine)

I'm certainly no wine connoisseur, I'd happily drink my wine straight after it's first rack of the yeast, without any pectolase or finings 😂 How uncouth 😂😂😂

First Go At WOW (A.K.A - Supermarket Juice Wine)

I've wondered the same, but just gone with the flow. The additional cost is minimal, think I was £1.65 for a 100g which equates to approx 10p per gallon. As for taste, I guess the only way would be to do a comparison, one with nutrient, one without. I bought Youngs Active Yeast AND Super...

Yip will do, whats the rule of thumb for further racking ? So I've got stabiliser and Kwik-Clear finings in and already I can see sediment forming. How long can/should you leave it on sediment ?

Ach I had no idea, just thought I'd try 👍 That's them fined and topped up.
