    Crushing your own grain.

Tried once but even at 1% water it was an almighty mess and had to break open the mill to clean it.

    Why is my beer cloudy?

Are these actual Malt Miller kits ie they might have sent different malts? Bottle or keg?

    Why is my beer cloudy?

I have settled around 0.6g protofloc and 2g brewbrite otherwise the amount of trub is too much. That doesn’t really help with your cloudy problem though which is tricky to guess at.

    YeastFace Brewdays

This is what Scott Janish has to say in the New IPA “In other words, chit malt can enhance head retention while also slightly increasing clarity. This is the opposite of other protein-rich options like malted wheat, where modified proteins from malting can increase haze when paired with hop...

According to my notes Chit malt improves clarity. It doesn’t seem to be much used in the UK.

    Dirty yeast

2 weeks is fine. According to the yeast book that is the limit, not sure if that’s because of vitality or infection risk though.

    Dirty yeast

For beer use it doesn’t need feeding, just keep it under its layer of beer in the fridge.

1 of 5. CF310. These beers are the same base, small whirlpool of Harlequin and 7g/l dry hop of the test hop after fermentation. The official description says strawberry, red fruit, woody. I can sort of get strawberry but it doesn’t have much residual sweetness - maybe you would accentuate...

This is good, it’s a sipper not a guzzler for me. A bit boozy which I didn’t expect.

No time for the taproom but I got some supplies from the Buxton shop to take home. Looking forward to the CF trial batches that were only 2.50 each.

We have a late sunshine kind of day in the peaks. Sharing a couple with my wife: Thornbridge Huck double IPA is a bit much for me. Followed by a Glen Affric Highland Suntan, too much mosaic for me.

Reading the small print this bottle was brewed at the Carlsberg brewery in the UK, presumably using much the same recipe as the rest of the macro lagers.

    Printers

For me i found the third party ink was useless so I pay the subscription cost of HP at 1.50 / month to always have it available.

I have been in Bakewell which was heaving with tourists. First a Bakewell pudding, managed to find the same cafe we went in 11 years ago: Then onto Thornbridge for the brewery experience which was sadly not a tour nor it seemed run by a brewer. Union system was in action in the background...

I couldn’t not buy a beer named for my favourite book. Not my usual style but it’s pretty good, thankfully not too heavy on the tropical.
