My regular brews are mostly bitter - 5 Points Best - Summer Lightning - Sussex Best But I make Sierra Nevada regularly as well as Leffe, Wit/Weiss, IPA and Stout.

Didn’t brew but transferred 15 litres of Double Maxim Brown Ale to the bottling bucket. Will leave it for 2 days then bottle.

I have added brown sugar, Dextrose or treacle plus cocoa nibs and rolled oats to mine plus more hops. My last brew with the Range stout was 12/9/22 where I made 18 litres of Blackberry Stout. The recipe was 2200g Range stout kit 500g Dextrose 400g Brown Sugar 500g Blackberries Hops were 16g...

The only kits I’ve brewed in the last 5 years have been Range Stout kits which are average but drinkable because the bitterness overpowers are twang. I have given up on these my stout is exponentially better.

They recently moved from Crossmyloof to another part of Glasgow because I assume their volume of orders increased. I agree the workload vs margins are going to unsustainable long term.

Fish can be bought at reasonable prices at market such as Bolton or Earlestown (St. Helens) where I bought Hake, Dover Soul and Monkfish all for £14. However here in Brixham which is the largest fishing port by volume in England it is very dear.

The version they brew for Aldi is excellent and a bargain at £1.79.

Chips and mushy peas are part of your 5 a day. At least chips have potato in them unlike those awful fries.

With CML closing I wonder what will happen to their yeasts which are obviously repackaged? I wonder if we will ever find out who the original yeast manufacturer is. Some of their yeasts appear to be unique such as Pia, Hog-Norsk, Beoir, and Atlantic.

That’s a real shame I use them for 90% of my yeast and hop orders. I mirror what Gonzo says. I’m going to put in a big order for yeast as it has a long shelf life.

Finished it couple of hours ago I was aiming at an OG of 1046 and 4.7% but it came out at 1049 and an anticipated 4.9%. I will let you know in about 4-6 weeks what it’s like, but I’ve never tasted the original.
