Distorted face dials on CO2 regulator

It might be worth posting a photo and stating what make it is. Is it a kegland mini regulator by any chance? Also could be worth emailing the supplier for their advice 👍

    Where to buy cask beer?

Do you have any small breweries locally? If so, give them a call, or even better pop in - I am sure they'd be happy to sort you out.

    Ideal Beer Engine CO2 Volume

I use a 150mbar regulator, which is about 2.2psi. I don't use a sparkler and the head seems to persist. (I also have a swan neck beer engine). My setup is based on Peebee's treatise.

Rumour? is Wilko's going into administration?

The last couple of times I have been there have been many empty shelves and it's been hard to find what I need. Also the homebrew section is now a third of the size it used to be with a much reduced offering (only really kits, yeast and buckets).

    National Homebrew Competition

Phew, that's lucky. I've got my bottle labels and shipping label printed. Just need to get mine bottled up, before I finish the keg!

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Drinking my entry to the UK National. Seriously need to bottle some before it's all gone!

    Mini Kegs.

I bought those shown in the OP and had the issues, so have a feeling they're not stainless steel. And yes, they are a pig to clean and dry properly asad1 @Little Rock Brewing - it is refreshing to hear someone say they enjoy bottling :laugh8:

    Mini Kegs.

They're ok, though I consider them not re-usable and thus uneconomical. They can only be used for ales/low-carbonated beers. They require very careful/delicate cleaning due to the thin coating on the inside that protects the metal. Once open, you only have a couple of days to drink it before it...

All in One cleaning and sanitising?

Do give a good clean prior to first use - there will be residues etc from the manufacturing process that you'll probably want gone. I can't remember what I used on mine - maybe ChemClean.

    Best time to transport beer?

That's good to hear. I've done a couple of youngs kits in the past and was fairly happy with them. There are also some excellent "premium" kits around that have 2 cans of malt extract.

    Tap and line cleaning

After following this thread last year I today used purple line cleaner on 5 taps on keezer/kegerator and my beer engine, as well as my 2 party taps and jumper line. I must admit, I expected them to be dirtier than they were, although each has only had about 1 or 2 keg loads of beer through them...

    Corny float kit

What's the need for the post on lid? I imagine it's maybe so you don't have to remove the original dip tube? I know this doesn't help, but I bought a few of the dip tubes to replace the dip tube, and I thought they weren't that great to be honest and have since replaced the dip tubes. I didn't...

    Equipment storage advise/tips

It might not be too helpful a response, but I would look to get the issue of condensation in your loft sorted. Sounds like there may not be adequate ventilation?

    Corny kegs

You lucky, lucky, lucky person. Whoever gave you those, keep them in your life! I can't add to what has been said - I also would recommend Brewkegtap. As Rod said, you won't look back!

    National Homebrew Competition

That's good to know. I shall stick with the original category.

    National Homebrew Competition

I just realised I made a mistake in my original post - the FG is lower. So the ABV is 0.1% higher than the guidlines, so maybe I shall indeed be ok. Annoyingly I think there is a mistake in the recipe I used in that the yeast is more attenuative than the author believed, as both my brew and...

    National Homebrew Competition

My entry has ended up with a lower OGFG than expected so will have to change the category I enter as the ABV is now too high for the original category :(

    Saison - Keg or Bottle?

Nice one. I find it's hard to keep records when you're enjoying the end result athumb..

    Welded or Unwelded Corny Kegs?

Agreed, go with unwelded. They're simply refering to how it has been reconditioned. A good quality keg will only need a good clean and new o-rings, maybe new posts too. Answer is in the post before yours athumb..
