Norwich Amateur Brewers - Brew Like A Monk (14 October 2023)

Totally forgot that I have a beer of appropriate style I can enter already, so just signed up. I just need to remember not to drink it all before October.

Anyone brewing a coronation ale tomorrow?

Not me, but I'll be drinking the leftover Platinum Jubilee beer, given it has Union flag bottle caps. Will make it look like I brewed something especially.

    Peach puree

I must admit, the only GH recipe I have done that contains something other than water, malt, hops and yeast was the Elderflower Ale, which I entered into a comp and I was (quite rightly) told there was absolutely no trace of the elderflower whatsoever. Interesting that double the amount of peach...

    Beer not carbonating

You need to use smaller diameter line than that I think, although now I say that, 3/16" which I was going to suggest is not much smaller than 1/4", so maybe that may not be the solution. I just scrolled through the thread - I can't see what pressure you're serving at?

    Fridge advice

Oh no, bad luck. That's why I was surprised to see sides mentioned as being safer. As Rod has said just trapping with the seal works well, and means no drilling. 40mm is a pretty big hole - are you sire you'll need one that big?

    Fridge advice

I'm not sure about that What are you looking to achieve? Is it a kegerator or fermentation fridge? What pipes are you looking to install? The door is probably the safest. If you need to get CO2 in, I'd recoment using 3/16 line through the drain hole, thus eliminating need for drilling for that...
