1/2 TC bulkhead connector 1/2 BSP.

OP is looking to fit it to a FV, I think?

1/2 TC bulkhead connector 1/2 BSP.

Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a very wide selection of TC fittings in 1/2” … Perhaps you might have more luck using Cam-Locks? E.G.:

1/2 TC bulkhead connector 1/2 BSP.

+1 to the difficulty of getting a seal especially through a bulkhead. In my experience that type of fitting shown relies on the flat end face (top of pic) sealing up against a flat washer, hence not much good for going through a bulkhead :-(

    Any CO2 Suppliers in Essex?

The way I went about it was to look for an Air Lquide agent that does CO2 (see map here) and I’ve used a couple of different ones with success (my local one is EdwardsHolmes in St Albans but I’m sure you can find one closer!). I know other people swear by Adams Gas (see here for stockists), and...

    Pressure transfer mystery!

At least the vessel is transparent so you have at least some chance to see what might be going on. I see that (if I understand correctly) you were at least initially able to blast some CO2 in to the FV through the beer-out post; and that you have verified the FV is pressurised by pulling the...

    Adding Steeped Grains during fermentation

Interesting thread over here (offsite link) describing experiments to check the fermentability of sugars from crystal malts. Bottom line, if I read it correctly, is that they produced quite a lot of fermentable sugars. Obviously that’s just one data point though

    Adding Steeped Grains during fermentation

Wouldn’t it be easier just to add some maltodextrin or lactose?

    TETB’s Brewdays

Heh! I did think about adding that, but it’s a bit misleading really because the kettle power is being managed by the PID so as to maintain the required wortometer temp…

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

When I was at Uni they had morphed into the ‘purple nasty’ - basically the same thing, but with crème de cassis in it :vomitintoilet:

He actually runs a pub, but he tries to cover it up by posting improbable claims of his personal consumption on here! (Sorry Mr H - just pulling your leg)

    Tilt/Grainfather temperature anomalies!

Well the temp sensor in the Tilt is probably a band-gap digital reference, so I’d tend to trust it. Presumably the GF sensor is a thermocouple, however it still should be fairly accurate. How’s it located, in a thermo-well? If so, could it be buried in the sediment? What strikes me is that if...
