What are you drinking tonight 2022?

First of my father's day beers. Busy father's day meant i couldn't drink any of them on the day. My wife picked this up in Aldi. Crisp and fresh with a little bitterness, and light citrus hoppy aromas. Would buy this again.

    What did you brew today?

Father's Day brew. A recipe based closely on Jon Finch's Hefeweiss AG kit from the Malt Miller. I tweaked the recipe to give me 20L but my efficiency was better than usual, possibly because my Klarstein can sometimes overshoot the target mash temperature. Anyway, ended up with 23L at the target...

How many litres of home brew have you made 2022.

22L NEIPA from an AG recipe on TMM. Total 7004

    Mini Nitrogen Regulator

It would be good to hear your feedback if you decide to follow TMM recommendation of serving at 30-35psi. I've not got any stouts kegged at the moment to experiment with, only my latest brew - anyone ever tried dispensing a NEIPA using N2? 🤔

Do you live where your partner was from?

Chippy kindly sets up a poll for me, and I press the wrong voting option!!🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ I know the problem - I need a beer!

Do you still live where you were born.

My school friends all left their home town to then return 20 years later, despite declaring at the time that they were "glad to leave that shitehole". Me? I'm now 15 miles from where I was born but 24 miles from where I grew up. Stayed not too far from 'home' over the years with a wee South...

Do you live where your partner was from?

How many of us now live in the area where our better halves are from? I would imagine that a lot of people, particularly blokes, now live in their other halves village/town/city. That's been my experience and I'm continually reminded of it by my mum! 🤦‍♂️

    Mini Nitrogen Regulator

If I remember correctly, I reduced the pressure on the keg to around 8psi and set the N2 regulator at 10psi so that there was positive pressure being applied by the N2, and served at that pressure. Maybe it could go higher but I thought that the pour would just be super foamy. That was my logic...

    Mini Nitrogen Regulator

Hi DB, I ended up going ahead and buying a nitrogen mini regulator, a nukatap stout spout and a box of N2 bulbs. Sure enough, just as RGeats said, I got a big foamy pour, but once it settled, and a few pours more, I had a pint of smoother, creamier tasting stout. 👍

    Threaded 16g c02 capsules

I've read that the bulbs you get for bikes contain oils that you probably don't want in your dispended beer. 🤷‍♂️

    All Grain Equipment Set-Up

Being a mechanical engineer, keeping it simple and getting good results is what I want! My All Grain journey began with BIAB using an 11L stockpot purchased from Dunelm. I think I did about 4 or 5 brews before I realised that the amount of time invested wasn't really worth the return (even...

    All Grain Equipment Set-Up

If I had the cash at the time of buying an 'all in one', I'd have gone down the route of a Brewzilla, but I noticed a post on here for a 'grade B' Klarstein Maischfest on a site called HiFi Tower. I checked it out and bought one for £125 (if I remember correctly). The Maischfest is basically a...

What are you drinking tonight 2022?

No photos to share but I had a few cans from my latest brewdog order. Libertine Black IPA - really really good. Was very easy drinking considering it was 7.2%. I could smell the hops with each delve into the glass, as if fresh hops had just been added. Lovely. 90 Day Bock - was OK. Nothing to...

    What did you brew today?

Thanks Mick. It's my first venture into a NEIPA, and to be honest, I didn't researched any other recipes - just bought the AG kit. I was expecting there to be a bittering addition, even a small one, at some point during the boil. I've just dug out Greg Hughes' bible and a quick flick to page 122...

    What did you brew today?

I brewed a NEIPA AG recipe bought from TMM called Idaho 7, obviously because it uses only Idaho 7 hops. Strangely, the 1st hop addition (40g) was at 0 mins/whirlpool. Brew day went smoothly, with nice weather making the day even more enjoyable. The brew is currently sitting in the FV, but no...

What are you drinking tonight 2022?

A belated post - I took my 10L keg of Cali Common to a friends on Saturday to watch the footy, and hope that the beer went down as well as the bottled batches did for me. As my friends are more partial to commercial pilsner and hoppy IPA type beers, I was pleasantly surprised that they asked for...

    Swing top bottles

This is very coincidental! I had the same discussion at the weekend. I've got two batches of swing tops, just the same as described by rocketman, and the brew2bottle ones are nowhere near as carbonated as the the other batch. They also seem to have lost the hoppiness (Juicy IPA in them) compared...

    Elder flower champagne

Sorry to hijack this thread, but it sparked an interest because I was just thinking about doing another batch. @An Ankoù , could you share your recipe for Elderflower Champagne please? I made some last year, following a youtuber's recipe and method (which was a safe method - no bottling after...

    Bottle washing hacks

+1 for a bottling tree, and no need to rinse after Chemsan - just hang the bottle on the tree and let it drain.
