Hello all Probably been asked a 1000 times but...I'll ask again! What do you pay for your beer gas? I've just phoned a supplier not 10 minutes from home. They do Adams gas,6.35kg,£34.79 plus £55 deposit on the bottle. Is this about right? Cheers!

    Homebrew has defeated me :(

On the face of it we're seeing a situation we've all been in and while now most of us are "experts" and would nonchalantly wave our mash paddles in the face of a stuck fermentation (that's providing we ACTUALLY got one that is!) The OP is not familiar with this and the whole thing is more...

    Homebrew has defeated me :(

I asked on your other thread but might be better to keep it here... Are you insulating your fermentation bucket? How warm is the water you are mixing your kit with? How warm is the room/shed you are keeping your fermentation bucket day and night?

    Restarting fermentation?

Are you insulating your fermentation bucket as well as it being on the heat mat?

    Homebrew has defeated me :(

What do you mean by "hang around 20"? The fermentation temp? Describe your process. Explain why you're disappointed. What do you think "isn't working "?

How to Decide What Hops to Use

You could look at beers you like, look at a "clone" recipe and see which hops have been used. Another way is to do SMASH recipes...Single Malt and Single Hop. You can just get what a single variety gives. It's trial and error after that as you go forward adding other hops. As for "user uppers"...

    Old cars big money.

I remember back in the day my mate had a Marina which if you lifted the carpet in the boot you could see the road! He also had a 1.6 Cortina that when you went round corners a bit sharpish you could smell petrol. We found a hole in the fuel filler pipe which we bunged with some mesh and filler...

Father Hook - off taste - any way back?

I've had premium kits take a month to hit fg,well in date with temp control.

Father Hook - off taste - any way back?

I never had a bad Festival kit...and I done a few! Hopefully any lag time on the yeast might have countered a high pitch temp.

Father Hook - off taste - any way back?

I'm not entirely sure but I think fusel alcohols are caused by too high fermentation temp. If you've followed your usual cleaning and sanitation regime I'd be inclined to think all is OK. Tasting the beer when it is "green" is only a guess as to what it will be. My concerns would be "vinegar "...
