What have you been smoking on bbq?

What the hell is a cup? I have all sorts of cups, some big and some small. IKEA cups or Aldi cups?

Really? I get annoying Amazon ads and all sorts of crap on this forum. I wouldn't mind but none of it is targeted

    Stocking up for summer

It'll be fine. There's no reason why a beer once carb'd can't be exposed to a whole range of temps without being ruined. Would be really interested in tasting the pilsner after 2 years maturation. As long as sanitation was good, I don't reckon there will be any concerns.

    BBQ thoughts....

Fired up the smoker yesterday, just for 4 large firepit sausages, so slightly overkill. But I felt the need to get it running Ps. Hot smoke with hickory chips for 2 hours giving just the best smoked frankfurter style sausage you can imagine. Served in a long bun with mustard ketchup and saurkraut

Nobber - I mean nibber " but but but, I read it on Facebook and so it must be true, EVs are evil and ********, all the oil companies say so. And now you are trying to force me to accept f-a-c-t-s and that makes me cry in to the doll I use to show the counsellor where a battery once touched me"...

No. People forget Tesla is not a car manufacturer, they are a technology company that happens to make cars! Tesla chargers were installed everywhere at huge cost and given to Tesla car drivers for free / heavily subsidised to gain more market share. And it worked brilliantly, not just for...

    Electric cars.

(Car model dependent) no. What happens is you are turning off automatic regen and instead utilising the 'brake pedal'. When you press the brake then the regen actually takes over and you aren't using your disks / pads until you brake hard enough to outstrip the regens ability to slow you down...

    Electric cars.

This is where we need a bit of a reality check , as the vast majority of an EV does NOT require any EV training. Suspension, brakes, anti lock / traction control systems, bodywork, various externally facing sensors/radars/cameras, all the interior and switches.... None are connected to the high...

    Nicks90's Brewdays

AG149 Another Old school Ale Carbon copy of ag147, mainly to use up the challenger hops and reuse the yeast I recovered from 147. So thought I might as well just basically do it again but with a post flame out hop addition for the remnants of the packet 3.5kg Maris Otter 150g crystal 113ebc...

As I showed on my recent euro trip, even using commercial chargers, it still worked out as over 90mpg in a petrol car on cost alone.

    Re-using yeast from current brew

Same here, leave a smidge of beer on the trub and gently swirl the fermenter to get that top bit of yeast that was the very last to drop out of suspension. Pour it in to a PET bottle and screw the lid on. I've had bottles in the fridge for months without issue, but never thought of freezing...

On the subject of costs, I've just done a tally up of the charging costs for our trip the other week to Belgium and France Leeds to Dover ferry port over to Dunkirk, to Bruges for a couple of days, then Ypres for another 2 days. After that a trip over to Paris via theipval and then home via...

The mini is even worse. It's like a 2 tonne tiny bruiser.... Clean slate design is much more efficient but not something the German and french gang have really got the hang of yet

    Nicks90's Brewdays

Yep, it's my go to smash IPA beer Doesn't matter if it's got adjuncts or crystal, just pile the hops in and keep adding. Really comes alive after about 4 weeks in the bottle, which is normally counter intuitive for a hoppy IPA. But you get an enormous stone fruit hit if you leave it a month

    Failed US-05 yeast

It will be fine as long as the sanitation was good. Worst case scenario is you see some activity tomorrow and have no idea if it's the yeast or a nasty. If so, transfer it back in to the boiler and zap it to boil for 5 minutes and then add a few more aroma hops at flame out to account for some...

No they aren't Tesla model 3 is the same weight as a BMW 320d Tesla model Y is lighter than a Kia Sorrento As for the big German luxo barge EVs, yeah they weight the moon, but how heavy is a landrover discovery nowadays? 2.7 tonnes if memory serves

    Nicks90's Brewdays

This time without cheating and relying just on bottle carbonation, first proper taste test Nomnomnom That's proper good. You can just about see the pink tinge on the head and the dark ruby red at the bottom of the glass. Very fruity, but you can tell it's not a regular strength beer 🍺 We got...
