    Notts beers days

This is a cracking pint. Really nice favours and very easy to drink!!! I'll definitely be making this again, or a slight version using ingredients I have at home. Would highly recommend this kit !!!

    Notts beers days

Update on this one. Not my favourite brew, but does go down well. I'm maybe not sure about the hops I used, or if dry hopping with Motueka was a success.

Big Lamp Bitter - 6/10/24 I brewed this bitter recently. This has been a long-time favourite, but not brewed enough. I'm easily distracted by other beers that have "exotic" sounding hops, but whenever I make this I always wonder why i don't make it more often! Batch vol: 15L M.O. pale -...

    Collaborative Brew Schedule - 2024

My Biete seems ok. Hard to tell as I've never drunk this before! Has a strong taste🤣. Will be interesting to swap and compare it to others👍

    Winexpert Classic Smooth Red

I've made a few Wine Expert kits over the last couple of years...Chile Merlot and Chile Sauvignon Blanc being the last. I've always waited about 3-4 months after bottling to start drinking, but it always tastes fine when bottling. Great kits that last. Think I currently have 2yr old bottles in...

    Collaborative Brew Schedule - 2024

I need to do a quality control check tonight to ensure mine is drinkable. Haven't tasted it for a few months 🤣 will let you all know later if in 👍

    Quick help needed

Yes, bit of a mess today. I did have a play with altering some numbers in the app once I had time and I think the balance of IBU and abv may not be too bad. Thankfully I didn't go OTT with upping the hop additions. Cheers all 👍

    Quick help needed

Thanks everyone for your input. I realized when transferring to the FV that my refractometer was out by at least 5 points 😕. My OG after the boil was maybe 3 points under the target gravity when tested with my hydrometer. Normally I'll use both the hydrometer and refractometer when brewing to...

    Quick help needed

My thinking (maybe incorrect) is that by adding an extra 2.5l water, the final vol will be greater, thus diluting bitterness a bit, therefore to up the hop additions. Maybe it's not something to worry about in my small vol batch! In the past I have occasionally added water to reduce the OG after...

    Quick help needed

I knew how accurate things were until the overshoot. Think I'll up the hops slightly and carry on as normal. Probably overthinking things! I am using brewfather app but not sure if I can add in the new preboil water vol to get new info. Cheers. 👍

    Quick help needed

Hi, in the middle of brewing a bitter. Preboil target gravity was 1.033. efficiency has spiked and I hit 1.042!! I've added more water to get preboil at 1.035. should I continue with hops at predetermined weights, or do I need to up the additions? Not sure how to calculate this...I think I...

Swing top bottles - replacement seals on Range bottles

I got the ones from Amazon noted in the second post. Great that the seals can be replaced. 👍

Swing top bottles - replacement seals on Range bottles

Quick update. The new tops I ordered fit the Range bottles and have seals that can easily be replaced. I haven't had time to explore a glue removal solution as yet. If I get anywhere with that I'll report back.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Found this in my cupboard. A nice surprise, and an easy drink. I think this was from you @pilgrimhudd - only based on the bottle writing? Looking at the date I think this came a while ago! Poured well then suddenly went mad to give the massive foam head. Tastes refreshing! Guessing it has NZ...

    Collaborative Brew Schedule - 2024

I have a black IPA I can swap. Made from an AG kit from Brew Day. I also have a Biete de Guard made for a swap, tho not sure how good it is! 👍

Swing top bottles - replacement seals on Range bottles

No, but the seals being glued on is a pain. I haven't managed to get it fully off as yet! There must be a reason they've done it (possibly to sell more tops?). I generally bottle about 10 - 12 in the swing tops (I like the ease of them) and the rest in capped bottles (great for giving away).

Swing top bottles - replacement seals on Range bottles

I have some Range swing top bottles. The seals are starting to perish and when I tried to replace one I found it very stuck (see pic). Having done an online search i'm wondering if the seals are glued on, thus making them impossible to replace. Anyone else found this? Pic of the top and the...

Beer gas primed - any sediment?

Thanks for that. I currently use a bottling bucket and add the required amount of sugar (in a random vol of boiled water). I may be getting an occasional infection in one or two bottles, but think it's more related to storage. I may look at direct priming and cutting our the bottling bucket...

    Notts beers days

Exe Valley Bitter - 16L Brewed a version of this today. Inspired by the recipe @pilgrimhudd posted, I took some of the ideas from Wheeler and added Motueka to use the end of a bag. Hopefully this will turn out good. The recipe was: 2.67kg MO (3.4ebc) 0.16kg Crystal 100 0.05kg Special B...
