Charlotte Dujardin pulls out of Paris Olympics

That was my first thought. The minute the video came out, she fell on her sword. Apparently, there was a Danish competitor caught up in similar. The solicitor said the reason the person with the video had come forward was because it gave them the confidence to do so. Said person was told by...

    new chapter in brewing

I'm currently going through this. Learning to force carb is interesting.

    XL Bully

I think the key point here is that perhaps in the past, people might have handed these dogs into a pound or given away to a friend or family if they could no longer deal with them, or the potential threat. The law said that you can't do that, so they have to be euthanised. The other issue of...

    Bottle Bomb!

In my last brew. I thought I'd be clever trying to get a few bottles out of the semi-trub at the bottom of an FV. A whole spoonful of sugar in each, I fortunately managed to avoid hitting the roof, but it was proper messy. I was left with about 50ml in a bottle from a 500ml bottle.

WHC - Mango Madness. Meh, not bothered.

I ordered 2 from Malt Miller and they came in at £9.82 including P&P all in.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Frankly, that's what I thought I was doing. I fermented it at 10psi and then it's been at 20psi for the last week or so. I'll try rolling it about and getting the gas in.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Yeah, aware that's not a yeast problem. It's in a corny keg in the fridge with a tap. Pours OK - although not as lively as I'd expect, came out with a decent head.

I'm with you on that. I genuinely am not picking up any esters, but as you said, hop flavour and aroma isn't great. Don't get me wrong, it's very drinkable - I'm certainly not going to be tipping it down the drain.

WHC - Mango Madness. Meh, not bothered.

OK, I'm fairly sure I can give a decent review now. Recipe: Dark Rock Hazy Daze. I've made this twice before, so I know exactly how it should taste. For: Thermotolerant. Up to 37c. That's great for summer brewing without a brew fridge. I'm pretty sure most of the western world can brew at...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Had a small glass of my usual "Hazy Daze", except this time I used the Mango Madness yeast. I'll stick to Verdant next time. It's fairly flat, despite being fermented under pressure and served at 20 psi. Should it have more pressure? Any ideas how I can make it slightly more fizzy? I'm not...

WHC - Mango Madness. Meh, not bothered.

I guess an update to mine. Bear in mind, it was only 2 weeks ago I used it, I tried some of the NEIPA I made with it on Thursday. Can't say I was overly impressed. I've made this NEIPA before - I drank the last bottle this evening - so I know it's a good one. The new one tastes a bit bright, of...

Equipment For Sale Beer fridge (full setup - kegs, taps, regulator etc) for sale

I can imagine that would be more than £200 alone when you start getting fridges involved!

    Braumeister 500 litre.

This could well be the future. Brewery sells you a container with wort in. Add yeast, leave for 3 weeks, serve in something like a pinter https://pinter.co.uk/ As you said, no duty. Arguably, we wouldn’t pay sugar tax either as that’s refined sugar.

I'd love it if you worked for Messi & Paoloni or something. I'd find that quite fascinating.

    IT outage

The second point, yes. And in Major Incident and Critical Incident management too! I head it up for my company. As I said elsewhere, today looked like it could have been a disaster. As it happened, other than some minor inconveniences, we mostly avoided it. Which is weird, because normally these...

    What did you do today?

Waited for the inevitable call to say that one of our systems or customers had been heavily impacted by said IT incident today. Didn't happen. I'm not on-call this weekend. I'll take that as a big win and I'm very much about to enjoy an IPA.😂

Illegal campers leave a trail of destruction on the shores of Buttermere.

I'd like to do the N500. Not particularly at speed. And I'd definitely take the Travelodge option.

Illegal campers leave a trail of destruction on the shores of Buttermere.

I think we both know which minority group that Sections 61 and 62 are for. An individual wild camping does not trigger either of those (61 specifically says 2 or more people, 62 talks about vehicles). And frankly, if you were out of sight on the corner of a farmer's field, not creating a...
