    England team.

This is the competition that the 2nd ranked European team (and 4th in the world) are currently mid-table in the 2nd division? I'm not sure I'd call that competitive. I don't think England take it that seriously.

    Old cars big money.

The problem with a car like this is that it's just going to get passed around collectors and never driven. The thing has only done 2,000 miles in its nearly 30 year history. So ultimately, yes. It's like that piece of art. Except this one will get put into a very expensive warehouse and into a...

Dry hopped beer should be consumed within 6 months

Got chatting to a pro about this today. He was explaining that the cans last a long time because they're chilled from day 1. Kegs, on the other hand, aren't. And often once opened, because most bars and pubs don't actually chill kegs, instead using a chiller system, they go off fairly quickly...

    Old cars big money.

Generally, Geoff Buys Cars is a proper knob. But he's bang on here. Something amiss!

    Co2 prices

I did this. Firstly, they wouldn’t deal with me direct. And when I looked to add to the bar, the cost wasn’t dissimilar. Brewgas in case you wondered.

Dry hopped beer should be consumed within 6 months

I particularly enjoy NEIPAs and DIPAs. Which I’ve dry hopped with 300+g. I find they start to deteriorate after around 6 weeks in a keg.

    Old cars big money.

They go for absolutely stupid money. As an aside, a reconditioned engine for that is in the region of £10k. The problem is, all the other bits that'll need replacing will cost around the same amount I can imagine. The best option would be to find a wrecker.

How has it taken them this long?

As an aside, they do actually have 230v. It's a little bit convoluted - they split it into two. But they do have 230v feeds to for larger items like washing machines, cookers and even EVs. Whilst it's complicated, there were benefits to it when people used to mostly use low power devices. In...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Officially, I've been drinking this, this evening. Except it's in a silver tin, because I was given a can a few weeks back, before they put the labels on. Right now, I feel like those people that used to get "white labels" of records (Anyone remember those?). I have the other one they announced...

BIGGEST Balls up to date!, what’s your biggest fail?

Following on from the above, I think mine was deciding that you really couldn't put too many hops in a beer and that you could put them in whenever you liked. So I ended up with a whole pile of US hops. Some I threw in during the boil and the rest I put in the whirlpool. Usual stuff - Liberty...

    Octopus energy

I've always wondered. This is considerably more than my FIT. Which feeds into Octopus. Could I opt out of FIT?

    Octopus energy

With the Indira and Quasar Chademo kits you definitely can - they're V2H, so exactly what it's designed to do. Very expensive to install though. I believe they're setup so that you can't put it back into the grid too - so effectively, you cut yourself off from the grid when you're using.

    Octopus energy

I don't think you can do bi-directional charging with anything but a Cybertruck. Few cars can do true bi-directional and the chargers are extortionate https://zecar.com/resources/which-electric-cars-have-bidirectional-charging In addition, there are currently no chargers on the market. Indira...

Stu's Brewing Blog - Slow and steady does it!

Caveat here: I clearly lucked out on the efficiency. I made 23L (didn't read the water amounts properly) and was 1.053. Finished bang on in the middle as 1.011 Belgian Hybrid Witbier Recipe Ingredients (for a 20-litre batch): • Pilsner Malt: 2.2 kg • Wheat Malt: 1.4 kg • Pale Malt: 1.5 kg •...

Stu's Brewing Blog - Slow and steady does it!

So the answer was yes, I actually let it sit for 8 days, then added 500g of frozen mango and let it sit for a few more days. Bottled it last night. Filled a vial for testing the gravity and after doing that (it came bang in the middle - said it would be between 1.010 and 1.012 - it was 1.011) I...

    Other hobbies

I have far too many. Problem is, you end up doing all of them badly. So my main money drain is a car. 2005 internally modified MR2 Roadster (engine upgrade etc) I’m also a radio amateur. Whilst I’m not that active, I’m involved at national level in Scouting with it, so those in the know will...

Free gas. 18 litre corny fill instead of 19?

Sorry, when I said it won't hold gas, the corny itself is full. I wonder if I should leave a bit of headspace? I have a habit of filling my cornys to the top, and there's nowhere to actually store much gas. So as I drink it, it gets more carbonated. Does that make sense?

    Hop plants/rhizomes - growing report

Wow! That's an amazing amount for a relatively small plant. How old is it please?
