    WW3

The problem is, Trump can't stop the war. Europe will keep it running, even if Trump pulls out. He has no wish to fight Europe. As for this thread being like the BBC, it's more like G Beebies. Lots of people who have no idea what they're talking about (me included) arguing like we're some kind...

    Snow??

Nope. As usual. Apparently, it settled here once about 10 years ago. Solent breezes.

    WW3

As an aside, these 180 mile missiles have been completely rubbish. I don't even know why they bother. Even Ukraine admitted that 5 were taken out before they even made it and the other one partially made it causing a fire. Both sides have anti-missile technology. The only way Russia made them...

    Fibre to the property

I was offered 300, 900 and 2gbps. The difference between 300 and 900 wasn't that much and as we both work from home (her 100%), we figured it was a "business" cost that we could swallow. I mean, I'm saving 60% of my fuel costs since pre-covid, it's the least I could do. Frankly, for most...

    Fibre to the property

IT Tech answer..... There are a number of things that impact your WiFi speed and quite often the speed of your broadband doesn't make too much difference. For instance, I'm on a 900mb FTTP line at the moment. My laptop, which isn't the latest hardware is connecting via my 2.4ghz Mesh network...

    Grain Efficiency

Thanks Boris, IT was either August or October. It wasn't actually part of the recipes that I ordered, but I remember someone here saying to add them, so I thought I'd give them a go and you didn't have any. I think I might have commented on here at the time there were a couple of other things...

    Grain Efficiency

Thanks all. I'm going to have another go at it this weekend (using the original recipe). Point taken about the black. I'll dial it back a bit. I've thought about rice hulls before. Every time I've gone to use them, TMM are sold out.

    Grain Efficiency

I made a stout last weekend which I didn't read the instructions properly, so I effectively ended up with a brew that's around half what was expected. However, a couple of things. Firstly, efficiency. Speaking to a professional brewer, he was explaining that stouts are generally fairly low on...

How many litres of home brew have you made 2024

23L of a Stout that should have been imperial, but I misread the recipe. Total 7693 L

    What did you brew today?

I made a stout today. It was supposed to be a Russian Imperial Stout, but I mis-read the ingredients. It's going to come out at around 6%, which is just dandy - I'll keep that as a regular drinker.

    Show us your dog

My Spaniel dislikes Huskies. She used to have a problem with black dogs too, but not so much now. I spoke to both to the lady the looks after ours for holidays and also a behaviourist. Apparently, a lot of dogs don't like any black dog, particularly labs, because they can't see the expression...

    Dark Grains

Funny enough @Sadfield that's exactly what I did - I put them through the Food processor. Thanks all.

    Dark Grains

I'm not sure this is right, so I'll ask. I ordered some ingredients for an imperial stout. When I got them, the pale malt (which makes up the majority) is crushed as I'd expect. I also ordered crushed amber, brown, chocolate and black. It says on the receipt it's crushed, but it doesn't look it...

Yup. The Express and the Daily Heil are just the papers to be spreading real news. And ironically, most people who read these absolute pillars of hate are the first to say "The media is lying to you"

    Other hobbies

I thank my lucky stars that neither of mine fancied University. One is doing a distance learning part-time degree, but he's paying for it himself as he can afford it.

    Ispindel help

OK, so these aren't recommended in pressure vessels. So here's my experience: 1. Make sure it's tight. Really right. Because pressure does strange things to rubber grommets. 2. Don't believe it. Again, these aren't recommended nor tested under pressure. The gravity is always slightly out. 3...

    England team.

The irony is, people hated Southgate. Yet he got to more finals than any other England manager. Ever. International football is not about flair. It's about grinding out wins when it matters. And I'll die on this hill. Nations League does not matter.

Stu's Brewing Blog - Slow and steady does it!

A couple of beers on the go this weekend. A new NEIPA that I've not tried before. A Russian Imperial Stout. I'm estimating around 10%. I'm going to split this 2 ways. 1/2 completely plain. The other 1/2 will be on some oak staves that have been sitting in rum for some months.

    England team.

Exactly. One of the reasons the best countries in the world win trophies is because they have a lovely mix of experience and youth.
