Cask bitter to cheer me up with this miserable weather.

Personally I would never leave such a large headspace, I’m pretty sure the beer will spoil and I’m even more convinced after reading that it’s a hoppy ale. If you decide you want to give it a try you absolutely need to purge the keg to minimise oxygen in the headspace.

We went to the pub this afternoon and it seems everyone was buying me beers - nice but deadly. Home now and I’m having a best bitter, feeling quite squiffy so in need of bratwursts!

The strong ale is done and in the fermentation cabinet. It’s a good-looking ale if I say so myself 😉

American Pale and now a Belgian Dubbel. The Dubbel is nice but still not as clean tasting as I expect. It’s been in the keg 4 weeks so far.

I’ve finished todays brewday (bitter) and prepared for tomorrows brewday (strong ale) so I’m going to sit back with a beer now. Best bitter. Lovely.

I brew in batches so when I’m restocking all my kegs it does get pretty busy. On average it would be 4 or 5 a month.

Yesterday I dry-hopped the Pirate Pale and today I brewed another batch of the cask best bitter. The bitter is the same recipe as for keg except I use an extra couple of litres of water because the King Keg holds more than a corny keg and I add a little extra base malt to compensate for the...

I went to pour a glass of my Pirate Pale but just got some foamy sediment, another keg kicked! Instead, I’m having a glass of my brown ale. It is dark but the picture makes it look even more dark. Flavour is spot on though. 👍

I did have that bacon sandwich earlier along with a cask best bitter. I’m now having a glass of my porter.

This one from M&S was much better with more aroma and more flavour. I’d say it’s like a cross between Proper Job and TT Landlord. I did quite enjoy it.

Had family round today. I’ve been drinking my best bitter all day (cask and keg). They’ve all gone home now so we can chill.
