    Mango WOW

Hi, Just walked into the kitchen to see my Mango WOW coming out the top of the airlock. Fermentation seemed steady so earlier i added another litre of mango juice to top up to the gallon and it seems to have sent things mad! I have taken the airlock off and stood it in the sink for now, will...

    Dandelion & Burdock

Thanks for letting me know, I would probably have chucked it if the colour went but now I know not to. It is a no added sugar variety so no doubt it has some non fermentables in it! Will get it in the dj in the next week or so and will keep you informed.

    Dandelion & Burdock

Hi, Bought 2 litres of fizzy dandelion and burdock from asda today and planning to use in a tc with another 2 litres of apple juice. Obviously I will boil the d&b for 20 mins or so to get rid of any preservatives and I assume this will get rid of the co2 as well? Anyone else used fizzy drinks...

    Brew House (shed)

Thanks for the info on the water bath glad it works. I will use foil backed insulation inside the roof and try some white plastic sheeting on the outside of the roof. I know silver would be best but think the neighbors will moan with the sunlight reflecting into their houses. Think this has...

    Brew House (shed)

Hi, Since setting up HB activities almost a year ago the wife has been moaning to get the kit out of the kitchen. Having a small house with no garage etc has made this impossible but today finally persuaded her to let me get another shed (6x4 max) in the garden to move everything into. The...

    Fruit Beer

I was thinking maybe 2 or 3 litres to a 40 pint kit and adjusting additional sugar accordingly to get 4 - 5% max. Anyone else got any thoughts or experiences?

    Fruit Beer

Hi, Just a few questions. Has anyone tried using some fruit juice in with a kit? A while ago I tried some Mango flavoured beer (Mongozo or something!) I realy liked it but not seen it in the shops since. Been thinking of trying to create it but didn't want to waste time and effort if I am...

    Cherry Cinnamon Cider

After having tried my 1st bottle of Turbo Cider earlier today (and being very impressed!) I decided to take some inspiration from the Fruit Tea Bag Wine recipe on the forum. My aim is to make a nice fruity spiced cider for the winter evenings! This is my 1st published recipe so please forgive...

Couple of TC questions and one general question

Hi, Thank you for the welcome and the quic replies! I used Tesco's own apple juice (not the value one) I followed a very basic recipe on here, just apple juice and yeast, would it be ok to add the pectolase at this late stage? I have since found a better receipe that Marrsy has posted so will...

Couple of TC questions and one general question

Hi, I have been reading the forum for a week or so now and I am proud to say that I think my 1st batch of basic TC is ready. However, it is very cloudy, I have some finings arriving tomorrow and was wondering if I could use them to clear? Also, I was hoping to bottle straight away without the...
