    Primary fermentation

I've had to let my ale ferment for longer than it needed (4 weeks). It had stopped bubbling well over a week ago. Will this adversely effect the ale.

    Sugar applied at wrong stage

Hello All I brewed an all grain this morning and it was the first time that I have added sugar. But because I am a dipstick I mixed it in with the grist. Realising what I had done I figured perhaps some of the sugar may have been kept in the mash tun, so I added 60 more grams half way through...

    Keg Issues

Hi all Had a few issues with my kegs recently, bought a new one the other week and it wasn't holding any pressure. Unfortunately didn't relise this until the beer had been sitting in it for a while. I think it's because the top is not very round and every time I tighten the lid it takes the seal...

    No pressure

Hi all I've set my Timothy Taylor clone to condition a couple of days ago and thought I'd relive the pressure inside the keg before putting it in the cool room, but no pressure was there to be relieved. I had mixed 80 grams of sugar when kegging so surely some pressure should be there. Could it...

    Longevity of hops

Hi all When I opened my vacuume packed hops I used so much and stored the rest in a Kilner jar in the fridge. How long would they last in these circumstances. I think I'll probs need get some more in for my third FG brew. Thanks in advance

    Up my street

Hi all I had a pint of salopian brewery's Hop Twister the other day and thought it was bloody marvellous. Could anyone tell me if there is an ingredient in GW's British Real Ale that tastes along similar lines? Thanks in advance :thumb:

    Post boil hopping

Hello all I'm looking to make a beer which requires post hopping. Books tell me to apply the hops at 80 degrees. Do I have to let the wort cool down naturally from that point or can I use my cooler to bring down the temperature? Thanks in advance :thumb:

    Hello All

Thanks guys Hope it will get a little quicker with a bit of organisation. But was a day well spent in my opinion. Surprisingly the Missus was quite tollerant (but for how long though).
